Ebay transaction. I do everything right and yet it ends up so wrong. I specify a send address being my work address as it's safer and more convenient. Seller overlooks it and sends to address registered to my account which is home. Aust Post rather than leaving a notice to collect a package cram package into my mailbox leaving it hanging out of slot. So tightly was it crammed my girlfriend was unable to dislodge it so she took what mail she could and left it for me to pry loose. I get home late and my girlfriend advises package hanging out of mailbox. I run down as I know my street has all manner of dodgy cocks running up and down it as soon as the sun sets. Sure enough package gone.
Of all the factors contributing to my failed transaction I declare Aust Post the most negligent.
I always try and insist on registered post even if the seller doesn't advertise it. Then Aust Post fit the bill if the delivery goes by the way side. The peice of mind is definitely worth the extra couple of bucks.
If you just want your package/money back you can be a bit of a cunt and say you never recieved it at work and act ignorant bout it being sent to your home. Ebay will follow thru with the legal binding action and it'll be sorted.
GF feels bad but it's really not her fault. She was concerned she was damaging it because the package was being bent and ripping when she tried to pull it out. She didn't have a key to the box so chose to leave it for me as I could actually open the mailbox. The seller was careless but these things happen. It's Aust Post who are the dicks in cramming a package that doesn't fit my mailbox and leaving it hanging out on a notoriously dodgy street.
Pep - dunno if this will help, but with Big W's big stocktake sale thing, I noticed that one of the items sold was RE4 (ps2) for 25 bucks. If you know any big w's nearby, give them a ring?
