Okay, directed by J J Abrams... I have no issues with that... but WTF?

Matt Damon is playing Kirk?? Shouldn't they be doing a Voyager film, or a DS9 film? I am confused...

I'd heard rumours that they'd be going back to the Starfleet academy in Kirks days for the next one, but then also heard that the rumours were false.

I'm dissapointed that they cancelled Enterprise - seasons 1 and most of 2 were a bit slow paced, but it was very good in 3 and 4. The Patch Adams opening theme was always a bit dodgy though, as was having an emotional Vulcan.

I'd kill for a DS9 movie, but alas I can't see it happening.

Still, any Star Trek is good enough for me. Bring it on!

J J Abrams?

Does this mean he's just going to make up the script as it goes along and start introducing new cast members that appears from nowhere via totally implausible situations halfway through the movie to make up for the ones he's already killed off?

I thought Enterprise was great!

But I just cant picture Matt Damon in a lead ST role.
