From my QLD experiences, by 7pm it's usually just-on completely dark.

I don't need anymore sunlight to do anything else by then.

When the Faith No More lyrics 'I dream about a clouded sky' ring true for you, you know it's too fucking hot. When working on farms I remember looking to the sky every day for clouds.

No worries then! DST is just a pet hate of mine. Cairns is (naturally) east of the Great Dividing Range so there is some respite in the evenings when the sun eventually goes down but it feels like it takes forever in the summer. Nobody north of Townsville wants it but you have people in Tweed Heads near the border whining to bring it back so they can make a few extra bucks each day. I think every year the Gold Coast should become a part of NSW for 6 months, it's not like it will be missed.

I've turned around on DST. I like it and I'm looking forward to having it back. They should do it every year, all year. I don't see why we can't just move our clocks forward two hours and leave them there for good. If we moved our clocks forward four hours in the afternoon and back four hours in the mornings we could pretty much cancel out darkness altogether. Wait..yeah na that works.

Daylight Savings is great indeed. I want that extra light for my group fitness sessions outside. Sure.. I could bring the clients inside.. but that defeats the whole purpose of being outside. PLus we have more sessions outside in the afternoon.

I'm certain my turn around has to do with buying a house. And I quit stalking last year so darkness isn't a tool I use as often now.
