You missed my point.Megaman wrote:Yes! And I imagine they would be very different films. The beauty of animation (imo) is that you can do things in animation that you can't do with live action. But I doubt that any animated actor could have the screen presence possessed by great actors such as Brando and DeNiro.DjBigK wrote:If the same film was created twice, once shot on film, and once animated, with exactly the same dialogue, would you still argue that the two films fall into different genres?
I have doubts about "foreign" being a genre, especially when most movies are foreign from an Australian perspective. But this thread goes to show that anything is a genre. "Kevin Costner", "Kung Fu", "Adventure Trilogy", "Australian Cult", "Weird", "Movies in which Joe Pesci is a badass" - everything's a genre.

I must credit my darling wife for that one..I wouldn't have seen it had she not insisted I watch it with her on her fourth or fifth time.I loved it.It's gold. The scene where the wedding planner falls instantly in love with the servant girl(when she drops the glasses) is magic.GreyWizzard wrote:I love Monsoon Wedding.
Good picks Cletus.
Mystery Men has scenes of pure GOLD.I think it's one of the most stupid/funny/corny movies ever.I think it's Ben Stiller's only good role...everything after it has been a weaker version of Mr Furious.DjBigK wrote:Yes, some good picks Cletus. Though I though Mystery Men was crud, despite doing my best to like it.
Also you have to include Holy Grail along with Meaning of Life and Life of Brian.. you simply must!!!!!
Regarding Monty Python,I could have listed any of their movies...they're all absolute Masterpieces.I still feel The Meaning Of Life and The Life Of Brian are the standout gems in a treasure chest of pure gold.

Holy Grail was always number one for me. Especially after seeing Spamalot. Life of Brian is great as well, and Meaning of Life has some absolutely cracking scenes! They're all great... Holy Grail just has a special place for me .... esp the Black Knight scene.Cletus wrote: Regarding Monty Python,I could have listed any of their movies...they're all absolute Masterpieces.I still feel The Meaning Of Life and The Life Of Brian are the standout gems in a treasure chest of pure gold.
