Alcohol excise has gone up. That is reason enough for me to hate Kevin 'No new taxes' Rudd.

And look! I still can't even get ADSL2.
Fuck him.

...and before westy and the rest of the Conservative Defence Force get in; there's no way in hell Labor can win Mayo off the back of Downer's quitting. It's probably the safest Liberal seat in the state.

Honeymoon over for Rudd as popularity falls

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... 21,00.html
KEVIN Rudd has suffered double-digit falls in his popularity among higher-income earners, full-time workers and people aged 35-49 years as the superstar ratings of earlier in the year returned to more mortal levels in recent weeks, The Australian reports.

A special analysis of Newspoll shows that the Prime Minister has lost support among all demographic groups - male and female, rich and poor, and households with and without children - since the May budget.

...

The hard numbers reinforce focus group polling detailed last week to The Australian that shows the electorate is increasingly disappointed with Mr Rudd - although not yet disillusioned.

Both Newspoll and the research from the Ipsos Mackay group pinpoint the May budget as the moment Mr Rudd's job satisfaction rating began to sour.

...

The most worrying part of the Newspoll research for Mr Rudd is it suggests a window may have already closed on his leadership because he no longer commands the respect of older, wealthier conservative voters.
Told you so.

Of course they don't. You ever read the comments section of news.com.au? I swear that voting should require an IQ test and an "ignorance of current affairs" test.

Well Jonnys fanclub of bubble boy high income earners no longer support Rudd, but who is surprised by that?

Though his decision to continually treat public photographs of nude children the way Jonny treated Big brother can't be winning him huge popularity points.

I wonder who I can support with the demise of the democrats.

Apart from nuclear power they were pretty much my views.

That's what shits me about all the parties. They're all "no nukes!!" ffs. That's fine for weaponry, but there's so much disinformation out there about nuclear power that it's just hopeless to expect that any of them will change their minds.

Of course. The democrats are perfect for me except for one particular piece of policy and I've got my blinkers on.

You're right, westical. I should be out there demanding the GG sack Rudd because he won't give us the nukes we as a country deserve.

John Howard might have been all for nuclear power, but the rest of his party sure isn't.

Bang on. Howard was so incredibly offensive that it's easy to forget much of his party didn't side with him on some really crucial issues.

I still think Costello would have been a good PM.
