Honda are back? Are they just making engines?

I see! Fair call from Alonso.

Yep Honda are back and have renewed their old relationship with McLaren.

Alonso going to McLaren would make me very, very happy.

That would make the current Hamilton/Rosberg situation seem like two mates out for a beer I think.

Actually would love to see Kamui go to McLaren with Nando. Honda did always have a penchant for having a Japanese driver in the past - at least when they were a manufacturer team anyway!

Kamui in a good car would be wonderful. Would like to see Vettel in the Ferrari because it would be pretty clear quickly whether or not he was in the same league as Schumacher or was the benefit of an incredible Red Bull car

I truly think it was the whole diffuser thing that sat in Vettel's lap. Without it, back to the pack.

Jules Bianchi has suffered a severe head injury and is undergoing surgery following his crash in the Japanese Grand Prix, the FIA has confirmed.

Marussia Formula 1 driver Bianchi crashed on lap 43 of the Suzuka F1 race, going off the track at Turn 7 shortly after Adrian Sutil had spun into the barriers at the same place.

Bianchi's Marussia hit the rear of a recovery vehicle that was being used to recover the stranded Sauber.

After being removed from the car, he was taken to the Suzuka circuit's medical centre before being transported to the Mie General hospital in an ambulance. He was unconscious throughout.

A statement issued by motor racing's governing body on Sunday night said: "The CT scan shows that he has suffered a severe head injury and is currently undergoing surgery.

"Following this, he will be moved to intensive care where he will be monitored.

"Mie General Hospital will issued an update as soon as further information becomes available."

The FIA confirmed that double waved yellow flags had been displayed after Sutil's accident to act as a warning for drivers.
These show just how bad the impact was. They aren't graphic, but considering the situation I felt they should be hidden.

Very sad. Watching the replay it was frustrating and even more sad that they didn't realise Bianchi had crashed. Understandable, though. Double waved yellows, you can only call this a tragedy. All the best Jules Bianchi.

Long-time Formula 1 driver Andrea de Cesaris has died in a motorcycle accident in Italy at the age of 55.

Italian press reports said de Cesaris was killed instantly in the crash in Rome.

De Cesaris was an F1 regular from 1980 to 1994, getting his first full season with McLaren in '81 after two guest appearances for Alfa Romeo alongside his European Formula 2 season a year earlier.

Although he did not win any grands prix, and never shook off a reputation for crashing earned in a tough rookie campaign, de Cesaris ultimately entered 214 F1 races and often got his invariably midfield machinery higher than it deserved.

He returned to Alfa for the 1982 and '83 seasons, which included his sole F1 pole at the '82 Long Beach race and a long spell in the lead of the '83 Belgian Grand Prix - which was the revised Spa's F1 debut.
Stints with Ligier, Minardi, Brabham, Rial and Scuderia Italia followed, before de Cesaris played a major role in Jordan's impressive F1 debut season in 1991, when he again had a shot at a Spa victory.

After two seasons with Tyrrell, de Cesaris's F1 career appeared to be over at the end of 1993.

But he would be back again for much of 1994, first standing in for the banned Eddie Irvine at Jordan, and then taking the Sauber drive after Karl Wendlinger's horrific Monaco crash.

He finally retired at the end of 1994 with five podium finishes to his name and having been classified in the world championship top 10 three times - eighth with Alfa in 1982 and then ninth with Jordan in '91 and again for Tyrrell the following year.

ANDREA DE CESARIS'S F1 CAREER

Grands prix: 214 (208 started)
Podium finishes: 5
Best result: 2nd (Germany and South Africa 1983)
Poles: 1 (Long Beach 1982)
Fastest laps: 1 (Belgium 1983)
Total points: 59
Teams:
1980: Alfa Romeo (two races)
1981: McLaren
1982-83: Alfa Romeo
1984-85: Ligier
1986: Minardi
1987: Brabham
1988: Rial
1989-90: Scuderia Italia
1991: Jordan
1992-93: Tyrrell
1994: Jordan and Sauber (part-seasons)

Shit, he's in a lot of trouble... straight into the counter weight which is head high, the whole car goes under as his head collides with the arsenal end, that's some shocking footage.

really hope he recovers, not sure what will come of this in regards to new safety measures.
