You beat me to it !!!!

Lowndes and Whincup each on pole for their individual qualifying races.......AWESOME.

Isn't 888 one of the teams that Ford is not supporting next year

They'll be driving those exact same cars next year, but they'll be rebadged Toyota/Hyundai/*. 2010 is when the engines/bodies will be switched too.
You heard it here first.

Apparently there are at least two manufacturers that are keen as hell to get in too, so it's all looking rosy.

Geez Ingall is turning into a bit of a whiney sook lately.

Lowndes and Whincup are looking good. Here's hoping they can stay out of trouble tomorrow.

I've never been fussed about the whole Holden vs Ford thing, I really enjoy the series but see each team as separate regardless of manufacturer.

PS be careful, both Juz and Ags are in your vacinity. Ref Freemasons.

Fuck wish I was home to watch that! Should be a very interesting race!

Also, there's some classic quotes from the qualifying press conference:
Q: (Gerhard Kuntschik - Salzburger Nachrichten)This is for all three of you: do you remember when you won your last wet race and where it was?
SV: OK, I start first of all. I apologise to Mark because maybe his last wet race he would have won last year in Japan if I had kept my eyes open!
MW: It's OK mate, don't worry.
Q: (Matthias Brunner - Motorsport Aktuell) To all three of you, if conditions tomorrow afternoon are the same, which is very possible, do you think the start behind the safety car is mandatory?
HK: No, it depends on the water level but I think it should be OK to start blah blah blah
SV: As Heikki said, it depends on the level of water blah blah blah
MW: Normally our starts aren't great, so I will take a rolling start, yeah.

I wouldn't call it just yet. The race today has thrown up a lot of factors....

Looks like a fight between Tander and Wincup.

Agreed... liked him at first, but now he's just showing his level of maturity. He's the Rick Kelly of F1 - decent driver, but too haphazard with his driving style.

Nicky Hayden has joined Casey Stone at Ducati for next year. It'll be interesting to see if he can turn it up next year and try to match Stoner

Clumsy fucking mechanics

Are they really gonna have 4 spotties on the front of the cars? Looks horrible. I thought they just light up every crevice of the track with big fuck-off stadium lights?

Well that's it - Rossi's wrapped up another championship. I guess you just have to sit back and enjoy being able to watch one of the best there's ever been. It was a good defence by Stoner though. He was never an easy beat and hopefully he'll be up there again next year.

Meanwhile, Philip Island next!

Yea should be interesting to see what kind of season he'll have with Hayden joining Ducati next year too.

I saw F1 qualifying Saturday but missed the race last night... apparently there was a lot of excitement.

Yeah, it was a great race, however Webber proved that he's the unluckiest bastard in F1.

After the Piquet crash, and thanks to some perfect pit stop timing for Alonso, Webber and DC they were effectively 1, 2 and 3 on the track. Then Webber's car decided to lose 7th and 5th gears, which led to his retirement.

Had all gone well, he would've held on to 2nd no problems :( DC was also unlucky in that he had a bad 2nd stop which pretty much cost him 4th - he still managed to get a couple of points though.

Absolutely fantastic to see Alonso back on top again though. Hopefully he can get a good car next year either through Renault or someone else, and really give Hamilton a run for his money. Massa has been good this year, but Ferrari incompetence ruined his chances again. That semi-automatic pit system is terrible - hopefully they bin it for Fuji (or not, as it adds some excitement!).

That track looked fantastic in HD. God knows how much ticket prices were for the front row of the stand over the track.
