The George Lucas prequels have plenty to cringe about but they look like Star Wars movies. The Force Awakens felt like a smaller movie by comparison. Compare the Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul battle with anything from The Force Awakens. There's no comparison. The massive scale set piece battles with orchestral score going full pelt is what makes it feel like a Star Wars movie IMO.

Rey's fitted, jedi-themed outfit in the trailer looks like it was designed and constructed by Gucci, btw. It's a long way from the modest, uncomplicated robes Jedi have worn in previous films.

You can't retell ROTJ because there's no real large enemy to fight, there's Kylo Ren that no one is sure why anyone cares about beating anymore. I mean does that mean they won't try? Seems like they are going too.. I mean what could go worse than the last one right?

There's a pattern of shit films out of the SW franchise. Last movie of first trilogy was worst, first movie of second trilogy was even worse and second movie of this trilogy was pretty bad. We've had our shit movie this time around. Even if the third is a retelling of Jedi, it worked for TFA.

It looks good in the trailer but VIII killed it for me so I won't be giving Disney my money. I can watch the original Trilogy over and over and maybe that's nostalgia that blinds me but any other movie in the series I've struggled with more than twice, except Rogue One, I've seen that 4 times now and enjoy it each time. Solo needs a second watch when I'm not being annoyed by kids.
