Re: Official NRL 2014 Thread - Return of the Canberra Faider
How can Knight ls get a player on report and keep the penalty? What a joke. That should overrule a hand on the ball.

Re: Official NRL 2014 Thread - Return of the Canberra Faider
Knights players think another forward pass for a try. I'm not sure. Looked possible, but the camera angle is terrible to judge from. The side angle looked possibly backwards.
But since forward passes are fair game, it's the most innocent of them so far if it was forward.

Ref & touch judges in this game have no idea. Making last nights refereeing look professional

I could do a better job so long as it wasn't in a Panthers match. I would see forward passes, high tackles, offside players etc. in every set against us. Lol. I wouldn't hesitate in helping the boys home.

Get fucked. Knock on missed now. Fucking useless touchies .Followed by a bullshit 6 again call for a ball not played at and now a potential try.

Re: Official NRL 2014 Thread - Return of the Canberra Faider
This penalty count is ridiculous. Knights nor being penalised for offside or holding down at all. Only blatantly obvious offences. Panthers penalised nearly every set for the same shit that Knights can do to us.

FFS. Knights are being handed field position on a silver platter from penalties and errors.

Panthers making more metres each set the Knights with piggy back penalties. The one time we might get a penalty we had scored and don't get it anyway. A field goal should be enough to seal the win now.

Re: Official NRL 2014 Thread - Return of the Canberra Faider
fuck this referee. got an injured player in danger and he let's play go on for ages before stopping play later after he's out of danger. We don't get the penalty yet again despite a player on report.
Fucking joke of a referee. 2 players on report for no penalties to Penrith.
edit
Knights score immediately following a player getting put on report and Panthers not getting the penalty. Missing two players now.

Waqa Blake is a beast. defends really well, freakish in attack. he will replace Idris in the centres next year, and Idris will move to the forward pack.

Thats game. Great win. Missing half about 10 players between injury and players in first grade through injury.

Re: Official NRL 2014 Thread - Return of the Canberra Faider
Wow. Really piled on the points at the end. Great win. So much stronger then the rest of the sides in reserve grade. 5 wins clear of second for the minor premiership. 36 point win in the grand final with a lopsided penalty count against us and a heap of missing players.
Hope we can boost this side next week with the likes of BMM, Matt Robinson, Will Smith, DWZ etc. Who are all eligible to play.

mx congratulations on GameHED'ing this thread with your one-way conversation.
Is anyone here outside of Reka going to cheer for a Bulldogs premiership next week?
Let's talk about this seriously. They're the worst Grand Final team since....when? 98 Bulldogs? 2000 Roosters? There's been plenty of GF beatdowns but often you could make the case for the losing team at least being good enough to appear on the day - 92 Dragons, 94 Bulldogs, 01 Eels, 08 Storm etc
Mind you given the shit standard of football in 2014, combined with the embarrassment crowds especially in the finals, it would somehow be fitting that the Bulldogs be crowned premiers in 2014. And if that occurs I'm just fine with the NRL closing its doors in 2015.

Re: Official NRL 2014 Thread - Return of the Canberra Faider
Welp, the QLD Cup GF was up there with the worst. Completely one-sided, then the last 10 minutes degraded into a cheap shot-fest. Three got binned and one sent. Usually I'd find fights entertaining, this wasn't.
I can't imagine anyone barracking for the Dogs next week. Completely unlikeable headlined by Josh Reynolds. I think Reynolds is a decent player, but he's going to be remembered for being a shitcunt rather than a good player if he keeps going like this. He makes Bird look like a saint.

You didn't miss all that much. It's nice to get a preview of Mitch Garbutt who will be a Broncos recruit for 2015. Promising prop.

Yeah if you only watch Broncos games you might have missed all the NRL games he played for the Storm over the last two years.

It will be interesting to see how the NSW Cup and QLD Cup teams stack up against each other. Assuming both teams take it seriously and put the same effort into this game as they did the regular season and finals matches.

Hahah I blame hardly watching any games last year, let alone storm games which are never on free to air to begin with. I hope he's a better signing than Martin Kennedy too pilon, what a stinker he was. Even in his last game - terrible. Biggest dud signing of the year.Megaman wrote:Yeah if you only watch Broncos games you might have missed all the NRL games he played for the Storm over the last two years.

Re: Official NRL 2014 Thread - Return of the Canberra Faider
Most of the awards seemed pretty spot on. So glad to see Segeyaro getting hooker of the year as he was huge for us when he moved to the starting side and played 80 minutes. Cleary was always a shoe in for coach of the year taking an injury depleted Panthers side to a top 4 finish and week 3 of the finals. Brad Arthur is probably unlucky... he did an amazing joke at turning the Eels around in his first year as coach. With next to no input into his roster aswell. Should be much better in 2015.
Luke Brooks as rookie of the year was a dud award IMO. Alex Johnston has been the best rookie by miles. The kid is a try scoring freak and has been great in every game. Brooks is good one week and shit the next.
Jamie Lyon as captain of the year was pretty shit too. Would have though Mini or JT/Scott were more deserving. Both got their teams further then Lyon did, Lyon didn't look like much of a captain once his side picked up some injuries.
JT and Hayne were deserving co-winners. But I think Sam Burgess was just as good as them both this season. He just had more teammates who could deny him of maximum points when Souths were going well. Polling so high when you have Greg Inglis in your team is pretty epic. Greg Inglis when he fires up is going to get the 3 points.

Surprised Hayne got 2 points in the last game. He was missing for 70 minutes.
