Speaking of Terminator, My "Making of Terminator" video uploaded to Youtube has been taken down in Feb due to copyright, now I've received my first strike.
Three strikes and my account will be TERMINATED.

Bandai 1/12th scale C3PO. Detail is stunning for the size.

nippon-yasan is having a sale and that bad arse transforming mech from MGS V is included in the sale (ED-209's daddy):

(from 471,96 AUD to 264,96 AUD)

looks pretty accurate to me:

Still waiting for Arcadia to get the Reactive Armor pack for the 1/60 VF0S... (they are getting too expensive now imo. Bandai has all the licenses for new shows which is eating away into their profits which I think is causing them to have to charge premium to keep their head above water. That = delays for release)

Quite an involving transformation on the 1/72 kit of vf-31..

looking forward to getting the DX chgokin. Also still got to get me Glaug Himetal soon. I knew it was a good scale to release enemy mechas at considereing how big they'd be at 1/60 which to me is way too big..

scans of 1/60 VF-31 chogokin:

21,600 yen

Reviews of Bandai Hi-Metal Regult and Glaug:

out now and still available in the usual anime/hobby /toy shops. Super Max VF1-J will be out november. Preorders for that has recently closed but hopefully that still is available after release.

The next release in the Himetal macross line which is imminent is the MKII Monster. Even at 1/100 it's still huge. lol

I see hiMetal as the best desktoys of macross ever done to date. Don't know why they were ignored by the Yamato collectors back before the "R" series. Snobs. You get quality in a tiny package.

I hope that if the sales of these are good Bandai do other macoss mecha in HiMetal line. (eg a variable Glaug, VF-22, VF-11 etc) 1/100 scale is just small enough for you desk but not too big when considering enemy mechas which imo are too big in 1/60 to display and would cost too much. (besides the japanese live in shoeboxes)

BluRay makuross opening (man this series so needs a reanimated reboot with 60fps micromissile swarm)

pics are emerging of the Arcadia VF-0S Reactive Armor finally (they only do one new toy a year  ):

also vid of the Bandai Himetal MKII Monster:

HLJ currently have VF-1A (cannon fodder paintscheme) HiMetal and MKII Monster Himetal in stock:

http://hlj.com/product/BANN06245/Act
http://hlj.com/product/BANN05211/Act

The price on monster is pretty high* for 1/100 toy but its HUGE (the original Monster was larger in size than the transforming Koenig Monster) even though its 1/100. I guess this one is for the real diehard collector. Think of all the MP transformers you could get with that? I guess that is the mark of the true fan.

sizes of mecha in SDFM (MKII Monster is the biggest. Makes sense why it can split a Zentadi Scout ship in 4 with single shot):

*and that's not even taking into account shipping lol

edit:

Bandai DX Chogokin VF-31 scans (from Macross Delta):

Look great in all modes. 1st Aug is preoder time.

After looking around for MP-10 recently I noticed there were a lot of interesting knock off toys floating around out there.

Why does this matter to collectors? Aren't the knock offs of cheaper quality and therefore to be avoided?

Well in the case of MP transformers sometimes the knock off is superior to the original.

2nd edition of KO is improved even more:

if hasbro takara want to stop worrying about this they really need to pay attention to small details on their best toys because they risk losing money to the knock off products. In the past people would avoid the knock off due to being worse, but as time went on they are almost perfect replication. (I guess the knock off companies are big fans of TF to put so much passion into the product lol)

Bargain spotted:
"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Riobot Metal Gear Sahelanthropus
by Sentinel"
at hlj
http://hlj.com/product/SET88021/Act
List Price:
¥38,000 ($497.95 AUD)
Sale Price.:
¥15,200 ($199.18 AUD)

same thing covered in my other post

If you like MGSV and the series and know other fans, you could probably resell these on the second hand market for profit in future. (V is the last Kojima game, so anything from that game would be considered of high value to fans of his games)

HLJ sale page:
http://hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?ItemGroup=WEEKLY20160815

I missed the last sale where VF-0S was selling cheap. :(

Just received my HWR-00 Mac II Monster (bandai HiMetal R line 1/100 scale) today in the mail!

It's one heavy motherfucker and solid too.

pics below:

The clicky joints inside the toy ensure this can hold pretty much any pose you can make it do and the diecast feet means it is bottom heavy so unlike the QRau or other back-heavy or top heavy mechs it will always stand upright when you shake the floor.

This is probably my all time fave mecha in the original show because of how specialised it looks compared to the other destroids which use the same feet and only differ in the torso. (apart from the Spartan which is a melee mech)

Being the heaviest of all the destroids and the one relied upon in the show and movie to guard the bridge, this also has an iconic look to it. It is never seen doing anything other than sitting down and shooting its massive cannons to slice up zentradi ships into four. The detail on the toy and tampo printing is very impressive (fuck stickers) and it was wise to have made this guy at 1/100 as it would be absolutely too much at 1/60.

Wil review the glaug next time.

Here is a youtube review showing all the articulation and gimmicks:

scenes in robotech/macross at the conclusion of space war I that feature the monster (usually in final battle protecting the bridge crew and punching holes in large targets using reaction bombs)
tv series (bodolza getting blown away)

movie (helping to punch through the armored skin of the alien mothership with the rest of the good zentadi aliens)

the unofficial theme song for MKII Monster everytime it gets into fights:

"watch me Stomp his ass out.." Monsters would have tendancy to wreck the floors of the ship because it is so heavy. Nobody seemed to fuck with it, and I didn't recall it get beaten in the show or movie unlike the cannon fodder destroids.

The next himetal R release is up for preorder:

http://hlj.com/product/BANN12853

recently got my Glaug and Monster. I have a choice between this Spartan or Max VF-1J.

I love these little guys.. Now that Macross Delta is over, SDFM needs to be reanimated as a tv series FFS.
