I lol'd at this story, they are takin the piss so its all good.
IT'S enough to make the late Bon Scott roll over in his grave: AC/DC fans headbanging to Highway To Hell while wearing neck braces.

But a Sydney-based researcher is suggesting the unimaginable to heavy metal fans - wear a neck brace or ditch your love of hard music.
Some of the comments are good too. This makes me think of a question.

Have you ever had to defend your love of Metal?(like at a party or woteva, people start slaggin it off and you cant bite your tongue)

Son shot parents after Halo 3 game ban
A minister has testified that his teenage son asked his parents to close their eyes for a surprise, then shot each of them.

The Rev. Mark Petric cried as he testified on Monday in the bench trial of 17-year-old Daniel Petric, who is accused of killing his mother and shooting his father in 2007.

Prosecutors said Daniel Petric shot his parents because he was so angry that his father would not allow him to play the video game Halo 3. He then tried to make it appear to be a murder-suicide.

I think the policy is fine and they should just get back in the kitchen.
Holy fuck.. I wouldn't be able to provide a work phone number either, ffs.
I dont get the big deal here at all. This policy would no doubt apply to ALL people who want one , male or female, who cant provide a work number. Banks do this when people cant provide a stable source of income for a loan...whats the big deal?

lol also...Whats the best way to make sure everyone knows and that you didnt get a phone? Tell the ABC. They'll get right on it. A great big FUCK YOU to the ABGreens, I mean ABC.
Two things:
I'm employed, but due to the nature of my work, I'm unable to provide a work number. I suppose I could, but if anybody from a telco actually rang up wanting to talk to me, I'd probably be fired.

Secondly, what's your problem with ABC? They're the least sensationalist and most balanced news outlet in the country, but somehow you think that makes them less trustworthy or something?
What would your reaction be if this person went to ACA or Today Tonight about it, like most white trash complainants do?

All 'news' reporters these days are a joke. The ABC is the one with the most political bias in Australia IMO.

EDIT: And anyone who watches AcA or Today Tonight to get informed on anything is doing the wrong thing, they are watching an entertainment show.

Dont really know what else to say about the Vodafone thing apart from its their rules and that we can probably expect to see more of it as the global financial crisis takes hold. Companies will be less likely to give people things with out proof of employment etc. Also I dont care.

WTF. "most balanced" if you're a lefty and all you want to hear is a lefty viewpoint.

It kills me how hard it is to find a really unbiased news source. Everything seems to either lean too far left or too far right. Although I did find The Economist was fairly politically unbiased, they managed to nominate good and bad points about both US presidential candidates for example, which was astounding at the time.

I would expect sensationalism from those two shows. But from 'OUR' ABC? What a joke journalism has become.

You have a funny idea of what 'sensationalism' is then - did you even read the article, or did you just fly off the handle when you saw it was the ABC?

This one is a few weeks old so may have already been mentioned:

May be slightly NSFW too.

This is the best bit

I hope the dog wasnt traumatised by this.

Just watched the vid, nothing to be ashamed of. If anything all of the people hanging around Andrew holding cameras are the problem.

It's no Hoff eating a burger that's for sure.

Yeah I read the article then I got my George W Bush t-shirt on and ran down to my local ABC station with my 'abortion is murder' sign and picketed their front door FFS

Here is the definition of irony:
A Roman Catholic priest in northern Italy has been criticised by parents for telling children that Father Christmas does not really exist.

The parents say he has ruined the children's Christmas.

But Father Dino Bottino, a parish priest in Novara, says he had not intend to hurt anyone.

He says it is his duty to make clear the reality of Jesus, and distinguish it from the story of Father Christmas which is a fable just like Cinderella or Snow White.

A local paper published complaints from dozens of parents. "You've ruined my children's Christmas," said one mother.

But an unrepentant Fr Bottino called it his duty to set the record straight.

"I told the children that Father Christmas was an invention that had nothing to do with the Christian Christmas story," he said.

"And I would repeat it again, if I had the chance," he added.

Yeah but can parents really trust Santa? Where does he get so much time to visit each child? There are billions of them all over the world. Even when I was a kid I knew something was just wrong about him; You see even when I was bad, I still kept getting rewarded with presents. I never told my parents about that. There are many santa imposters and they all appear at shopping malls with so much free time and you never see him eating or sleeping!
Santa exposed.

Unlike the priest I still think santa is real, just that he might be similar to other paranormal creatures and mythical monsters like loch ness monster or big foot which the ancients all thought were evil beings but which today we mistaken as good guys; relabelling them as different things for modern times.
Oh yeah generally I do think psychics and all that stuff is real and that Black magick exists. Greywizard is probably invoking all kinds of mysterious demons by accident which is why he keeps getting into arguments about psychic vamps with people they won't leave him alone. (noticed that on earlier pages)

Tell us the story. What happened..

And don't laugh ambrose. If I can post without mentioning reptilians in a thread then you can restrain yourself from stalking me for a while. It's possible for example that the crazy kids of today go on killing things due to visits from multidimensional beings who try to control them kinda like the story of exorcist. You'd have to be there to believe it. Yes there is no proof of any of it, but that doesn't automatically mean it doesn't exist just because it's hidden away. The search for the answer to the mystery is long and fraught with danger. It's just that people give up hope and never want to take the risks to get the treasures. Nobody know absolutely everything because it is designed that way on purpose.

And to all the right wingers: if you hate abc so much the best ting to do is just not click. I think the websites get more attention when they make you angry and want to visit them to boost hits. Sensationalism is how you get rich. They have to eat too you know.

I can't believe he just equated Santa with Bigfoot and black magic...
