A recipe for a Cowboy to cook for his lady

Post by Cletus »

I do like to cook from time to time...but I hate it to be pedestrian and you'll love this. It's also very easy.I'm serious. One other thing, this meal will make a woman absolutely worship you.

There are heaps of variations but this is mine.

Pollo alla Cacciatora

3 cloves of Garlic Sliced, not chopped
6 Anchovies chopped
Handful of pitted olives
Two 400gm tins of whole tomatoes
Half bottle of Lambrusco(or red wine)
8 bay leaves
2 sprigs of rosemary
2kg chicken pieces seasoned with salt and pepper
2 onions sliced

In a big bowl throw the chicken, bay leaves and rosemary and pour half a bottle of Lambrusco over everything and leave for 1-24hours(refrigerated)

Remove chicken and save marinade for later.
Dust chicken pieces in flour and fry until golden then put the chicken aside.

Fry the sliced garlic until golden, then add the anchovie and shortly after that add the olives.Add the tomatoes and roughly chop them then add the marinade.Bring the lot to boil.

In an oven tray lay out the chicken pieces and then lay the sliced onion over them.Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken.

Cover and cook in the oven at 180 for an hour and a half.

Serve with thick slices of bread or rolls.

Sounds like far too much effort for some food to me. But feel free to cook it for me the next time I come to visit :)
You wouldn't believe the things I've seen through your eyes...

Ok, well you start with chopped onions, throw them into the pan and let them sizzle in the oil until they start to turn brown.

Next step is the mince, just a little more than a handful should do it. Pound the mince up into little bits in the pan so you don't have little chunks lying around the pot. Like the onions, wait for the mince to turn brown.

Add 1 full teaspoon of garlic and mix.

Get a jar of tomato paste (I use Leggo's sundried tomatoes mix) and mix.

Now here comes the secret recipe. Get a SMALL bottle of Masterfood's Barbeque sauce and empty it all into the pot. Repeat - small bottle.

Sprinkle a little salt over it (I use sea-salt). Mix and serve.

You'll thank me later :D

Zing!

... Good thread btw. Always good to get some relatively easy recipes for impressing the woman. Although I wouldn't think that the first one is that easy TBH!

As nice a Mr Guns Recipe sounds. The quantities of onion and garlic is sure to turn off many women from your quest to laid.

In other words I suggest not eating the dish yourself as one sniff of your breath and it will be all over for the night.

Yeah I have to admit I'm a spag-bol and 'meat and two veg' only cook. Although one night I decided to cook my mince a little differently so it might be a nice alternative for you Sculli.

Just chop some onion up and throw it in the pan - brown it. Then chuck the mince in. Once it's brown throw in some frozen veges - diced carrots, corn, peas and beans work best. Then chuck in some worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce (put worcestershire in first) and just add whatever amount ends up tasting the best for you - experiment. Eat with rice.

'tis just as easy as spag bol and while I don't prefer it, it's definitely a good change-up. I like this meal.

I don't do veges with spaghetti, but thanks for the suggestion.

Let me add that garlic salt (master food's) on either Steak, Red Capsicum or sliced tomato is bliss.

Fillet Steak with garlic salt is my favourite
