Never been there before (or the US), so gonna be in full tourist mode for the tiny amount of time we have there. Any tips? We are planning on doing a proper US and NYC trip further down track though so just going to concentrate on the major first timers stuff eg ESB, Rockefeller/TOTR, Central Park, Times Square, Grand Central etc. Can't wait!
One day/two nights is going to be fuck all time sadly. I was there for less than a week last year and didn't see everything I wanted. You can probably hit most of that stuff in one day and there's so much other stuff to see. I found Times Square to be pretty shite, but that might be just me.

Definitely try to get to a Shake Shack if you can. I've heard there's one in JFK airport now which might make it easier.

Oh yeah, fully aware that it's a ridiculously small amount of time to do anything, but we had the option of a connecting flight at JFK so figured we may as well take advantage of it! Would love to stay for even one more day but just couldn't fit it in time wise.

Just checked the Shake Shack site and yep there's one at JFK and also Grand Central Station, will definitely check them out

That'd be sweet. When do you think you'll know by?

I'm expecting tickets to be around $250.

No worries.

Most of the tickets are season passes which are then sold. If you want to be along the sideline the tickets are at least $450!

The other half and I are spending Christmas in the US this year. San Fran, Vegas, Boston, New York and DC are on the itinerary.

NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA, UFC and WWE come at me.

Now all booked and paid for.

San Fran, drive to Vegas via Yosemite Park, Boston, NYC and DC.

Just booked tickets to the Carolina Panthers @ New York Giants game. Hoping to see the Rangers in New York too. Maybe the Golden State Warriors while we're in San Fran.

How long in SF? Coming down to see Silicon Valley? Would be great to catch up for lunch or a coffee.

4 days, actually spoke to the other half about going to Silicon Valley and she's keen. Catch up sounds good to me! Not like I'm over there that often

Yes. Still married. Still in Santa Clara. I'm moving to Greater Boston in a couple of months.

I learned a valuable lesson while in the US over Xmas - do not order entree plus mains, you will be defeated.

I just got back on Friday from 2 weeks in California. Did 5 days of Disney, a day at Legoland, spent a few days on Hollywood Boulevard (got a tattoo) and spent the next few days in Santa Monica. It was just to take Tobias to Disney and spend some time in the real San Andreas that I know so well in virtual form.

The thing I really can't get used to after coming home is the milk we have. Why, oh why do we not have Half and Half? I can't go back to normal milk. How the hell do I enjoy normal milk now? I can't. I've seen the other side.

I've seen Trump's America and it was glorious.

He really has made America great again.

I beg to differ. The mexican waiters tipped me just for allowing them to take our order.
