lestat: economic models don't explain Forex movements anymore.

What is more accurate is the interest rate differentials...the higher the Aussie interest rate relative to the foreign currency, the higher is the AUD.

There's also a correlation between the levels of the All Ords Index and the AUD too.

Made alot of money speculating on the AUD so far.

Have now paid for something like 1/3rd of my honeymoon next year now... if the dollar goes up, sweet, even better, if it goes down, at least I hedged

Going to Malaysia and Japan though and we're not up against the yen nearly as much as USD...

We're almost back at our all-time high though with the Ringgit though, so I've paid for all our accommodation in Malaysia already

Yen has weakened quite a bit against AUD overnight and today.

That will learn them for trying to step in and defend the USD!
