Re: Android Thread
Yeah, I can see how telling your watch to tell me I'm a cunt could be handy in certain situations. But then every situation would have to be one where you've ultimately concluded that the best course of action is to tell me I'm a cunt. Get it engraved on a piece of metal and send it to me. I'd value that so much more.unfnknblvbl wrote:Android Wear (and I guess, Google Now) needs to understand context. When I say "OK Google, tell Cletus he's a cunt", I don't mean for Cletus to get a message that reads "he's a cunt", I want it to say "you're a cunt"
I'd also like to be able to assign a custom phrase - "OK Google" is a bit crappy, and feels awkward. "Hey, Google!" works and sounds much better.
...not that I like talking to my watch anyway...
And it's permanent.

I really don't understand these cases that close over the screen but leave part of it exposed. What are they... for?

Re: Android Thread
I can already see the time on my phone without covering the other parts of the screen with a flap. It's really strange that letting you see through part of an obstruction you placed there yourself is considered a feature.

Re: Android Thread
I know, it baffles me too. I just don't understand screen protectors and cases at all.

Work on rooves or in a trade. See how long your unprotected screen without a case lasts you.

Re: Android Thread
So, I'm now getting nearly three-day battery life out of my watch. I must say, I'm pretty damn impressed with that. I can just put it on a fast charger for a few minutes of a night, or when I have a shower, and it's just like having a regular watch. Nice.

Re: Android Thread
Just picked up a Moro X 2014. The Nexus was giving me the shits with constant freezes and reboots, even on the official firmware.
The Moto X is nice.
Edit: 12 hours, and I haven't yet had the urge to mod it and get a custom ROM on there. All the Motorola add-ons are tastefully done, and they haven't messed with the core Android experience. The Motorola Connect transfer was extremely comprehensive; right down to bringing across my custom-made notification sound that I've created myself. The only way it could have been improved would be to transfer the app data across as well.
The phone feels nice and premium in the hand, and the vibration is firm. This might sound odd, but the way the phone vibrates when you long-press something is quite pleasant. It's a real "thunk" kind of thing.

Re: Android Thread
One week in, and I can confirm that the Moto Xmas is the best phone I've ever used.
To date, it is the only phone I've gladly reverted back to stock after putting a custom ROM on it.
The phone has a nice heft to it without being too heavy, and it slides into my pockets just perfectly.
Literally, my only complaint with it is that it's a bit too large.

Re: Android Thread
My HTC One is performing poorly. Suddenly viewing webpages is jerky as all shit (even the Ranch), and the camera quality is extremely poor. It's noticeably gone down from:

Sorry for the file sizes. The problem sounds hardware-related to me though. Just wonder if anyone else with a One has seen slowdowns with their browsers lately as well.

Re: Android Thread
holy shit, man. Looks like you're trying to take a photo through clingwrap or something! You don't have a case on it that's blocking the lens by any chance?

Re: Android Thread
If it's anything like a Galaxy you can swap out the camera for a few quid?
Also, if you haven't already, rooting to a Rom like Cyanogen would probably get things moving again.

Re: Android Thread
So Android 5.0 downloaded and installed fine on my LG G3 via the LG PC Suite. Now PC Suite says there's another two updates for my phone, but whenever I try to install them, the phone ends up in an endless loop where the LG logo just keeps looping. I'm able to reset it back (praise jebus it doesn't end up completely bricked) but it's frustrating that 1) no one else seems to be having this problem and 2) there are updates (I'm assuming they're bug fixes) that I can't get for some reason
Currently playing: Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (PC), Far Cry 4 (PC), FIFA 23 (Series X)

Apex Launcher or Nova Launcher. I use Apex, but they're pretty much the same.
