I renewed my Adelaide Oval Membership a few months ago.
Yea, so I pay no attention as whether tickets to the public have sold out or not.

I was thinking about it though, I pay $280 a year to get free access to all Adelaide Oval events, mainly cricket, all breakfast and dinners (as a memeber you get personally invited to these fuctions, but you still have to pay like $150 to actually attend). When I goto games I have to dress nice-like, perfect shoes, no designer jeans and a polo top or anything with a collar. I have to behave well and sit with all the old geezers for what? just so I have the sun out of my eyes?
The only good part about membership is I just walk straight through the gates, no dramas, all the while my mates are across the ground by the scoreboard drinking and yelling and screaming and pissing, abusing women and fat people, you know, having fun.

being a member would definitely be cool, but when you put it like that... yeah I'd rather be pissing it up with my mates that's for sure. Lots of good memories at the Gabba.

Another bonus is you get to watch the players warm up in the nets before they go on. And they walk around behind the members area to get from the change rooms to the nets. Last year I met Symonds, Kaspa, Kallis and was fuckin close to meeting Brian Lara the day he made 355

My fav player ever is Viv Richards, another Windian great. It was like whenever he came into bat it became a home run derby.

BTW the poms are going to get butt-fucked by us in the Ashes. You can take that to the bank!!

I hope you guys like the new graphics this year, I'm designing most of it!

Had all the commentators in my suite today having a look. That was pretty cool. Richie: "Marvellous!"

I won't forget that in a hurry. :D

went to the rugby league, england vs australia tri-nations tonight and since the ashes starts in brisbane in like 5 days, there were a fair few pommies around.

Holy shit, if the ashes are going to be anything like the rugby league tonight, there's going to be heaps of fights. It was getting pretty angry. And cricket goes for much longer so you have plenty more time to get shitfaced which is only going to start more fights. Should be interesting sitting in the crowd anyway..

Yea there were noticable numbers of poms at Adelaide Oval over the weekend...I popped down after work on Friday for about an hour and went for the afternoon session on Saturday.

I expect there to be a lot more come Thursday though......BRING IT!!!!! I can't Fuckin' wait!

Isn't there like 5000 of them touring? That's a lot of British arse to whoop once we whoop them on the field.

Courtesy of Kaji, I'm assuming they're covering the ashes.

Who does everyone want as the extra bowler? Johnson or Clark?

Personally, I want Johnson because a) I'm a Queenslander and b) I fucking hate Stuart Clark. Like, ridiculously hate him.

Tait's been released from the squad btw..

Is it really a matter of who we like and don't like, or who comes from where? Fuck, we are all Aussies set to rape the poms. Save the beef for state level cricket. I can't say I have dislikings for anyone on this Australian Ashes test squad. When they beat the poms, they will all be heroes in my books...

But to the topic at hand, I'd favour Clark. He has much more experience in first class cricket over a younger Johnson and a younger Tait. Outstanding display earlier this year against the Proteas.

I haven't really looked into cricket4u.net. As a Mac user, I don't think it will like me very much.
But hell, why would I? Tomorrow morning, before 10am the telly will be setup in the office + ABC radio kranking out back in the warehouse. Complete coverage all round baby, giddy up!

I'd agree with you in most cases. But Stuart Clark, what a wanker. It stems back to QLD vs NSW day/nighter at the Gabba. Our small section was giving him a little niggle while he was fielding on the boundary, absolutely nothing really. Some bloke said a mama joke to him and he DOBBED ON HIM TO THE SECURITY GUARD. He got booted out, so the whole crowd made it their duty to give him the utmost shit for the rest of the night. Then he DOBBED ON US TO THE UMPIRE. Nothing came of it though, it would have been kicking out half the crowd. He's just a wanker.

But really, he's a safer option than Johnson. Johnson has far more X-Factor and could be really good for Australia or a complete dud. Johnson would be familiar with the Gabba pitch too...

Wake up Punter!!! It's Ashes time!

I think it's just that Freddy is huge. I saw Harmison bowling to him in the nets last week...both are much taller in real life.

Marvellous start overall for Australia on the first day.
Nothing surprising from Hayden, 22.
Langer impressive for 82.
Could expect more from Martyn (as usual) 29.
Great beginnig to the series from the Australian captain - Over 65 - 101 off 139 balls (as I'm posting this) That makes 5,000 Test runs in Australia for Punter
Hussey also putting quick runs on the board.

This is exactly as I hoped for... Punter on fire, Hussey looking comfy, solid contributions by all (except Marto) and the Pommy bastards on the back foot from the start...
Love it

he's been in fine form lately, and he looked awesome 'till he made a mistake.

I don't think hayden should be there, he isn't the player he was.
jacques scored 2 centuries against them last week, he should be there.
