And the best thing about that first ball duck to Cook is that it keeps this amazing stat alive:

Yea, they were talking about those stats on grandstand earlier and I thought someone was having a laugh.

The cook dismissal was a beauty! Can't stop looking at that gif, cheers for sharing.

Not a cricket fan but been following the ashes the past couple of days and have been surprisingly into it. I got home just in time to see the end of it. The missus had just switched to it as I walked through the door and the only two balls bowled I saw were for the batsmen to increase their partnership from 3 runs to 4, and then for us to catch them out and win the ashes. The Aussies have had a pretty good month in sport. World Cup and the Ashes. Shit is starting to feel right again.

 that's good. I don't know why they were so over-confident. Yes they were better than us in England, but it was much closer than 3-nil suggested. Each loss was close, where we probably lost all of the crucial sessions, and we were in winning positions in each of the two draws (actually, we nearly lost the last Test due to a sporting declaration).

I feel for Haddin not getting Man of the Series. I still can't believe how good he has been. I've never seen him bat and keep so well, but Mitch probs did deserve it. Three out of five man of the matches, destroyed the mentality of England in that first Test so badly that they never recovered.

Can't wait for the Saffer series where I'm worried our batting will be exposed.

If it was me, I would have Haddin & Johnson share honors for man of the series. Really only two innings I can recall where we were in trouble and Haddin saved us, leaving Mitch to finish them off.

Just complete dominance. Literally leaving no room for England to move apart from a trip to the airport. Aussie cricket restored.

Ashes schmashes, I was at the Big Bash final and watched Simmons, the Marsh Brothers and HOGGY crush Hobart. #thirdtimelucky

They spotted a few Freo players in attendance (including that shit stain Ryan Crowley), and they copped a universal "BOOOOOOOOOO!!!" from the crowd. Left the ground announcer speechless. Loved it.

Yeah it was all just so unimaginative too, like T20 captaincy is so mechanical. He should have stuck with Watson earlier in the piece when he was swinging it. Didn't help that Warner and Watto have failed in the first two games. Maybe we're just spoilt by Clarke's excellent captaincy. Anyway, game over!

I feel I have to share this quote from KP's book. Speaking of Johnson's pace:
"Lunch? No thanks. I was sitting there, thinking: I could die here in the f**king Gabbattoir," Pietersen wrote of the moments immediately after Trott's dismissal.

....

"As I ran past Mitchell Johnson and I said to him, it's me or you, buddy, and believe me, I'm less scared of getting out than you are scared of giving me a lot of runs," Pietersen wrote.

"He looked at me, just stared at me, he didn't say anything back. He kept staring and walked past.

"S**t. S**t. S**t. On so many occasions in the past Johnson has always bit back: shut up, KP, f**k off, shut up, big shot.

"This time he didn't say anything, and immediately I knew he was different.

"I would have preferred him to have said something, to engage with me, but he didn't, and that's when I knew the series could be tough.

"It proved to be extremely tough."
