I'm going to Japan!!!
I'm going this thursday. The main reason for the trip is to go to TGS and to play video games before anyone else here does. I am going to attempt to get my hands on the Wii.
I'll probably post now and then to let people know how I am going.
So I should have some first hand gaming news for you all over the weekend!
If anyone has any suggestions of things I can do or look at while I am over there please let me know. I am going for about a week.
Shit!
You are aware Nintendo wont be present at TGS? Though the expected number of third party Wii titles on show is expected to be very low this year, here's hoping you find some good (maybe some unannounced Wii games? - i'm guessing there will be a lot of early development titles shown on video) and get back to us with some impressions.
Have fun

actually more like little school girl panties. Lolicon = japan's semi-mainstream fetish.Nice one man, should be fun! Buy some used women's underwear from a vending machine.
The latest transformer alternators line attests to that.
Prime = paedophile.

A lot of japanese transformers fans hate the concept. Takara are taking desperate move to cash in on this. ie selling an unpopular line to a wider range of otaku who collect little anime girl figures. I feel sorry for the fan who would be embarassed to buy one because of the box.
Another strange thing is how in japan although they had the superior binaltech diecast version of alternators, they seem to prefer the cheaper plastic american ones due to paintchipping issues with diecast toys. Meanwhile the americans envy the diecast BT over the plastic alts because diecast suddenly makes it more an "expensive collector item".
The grass is always greener on the other side..
These Kiss Players are really just slightly high quality versions of US alternators (slightly better paint and detail) but at BT prices. The price is a rip off.

Heh, the whole die-cast/plastic thing has never really bothered me.. I guess die cast would be cool because it's a bit more durable but it does seem like an excuse to serve the price up higher.
I wonder if the Japanese actually play with their toys then, considering the diecast have paintchipping issues would indicate their getting some use, whereas the Americans keep them as collectors items only?
I don't think I could stand keeping toys in boxes and not playing with them lol
Anyway back on topic, take lots of pics Grey!!

It was announced during their recent Japanese press conference that instead of appearing at TGS, they plan to organise a Japan-wide travelling Wii event for the public to try out the system before launch.GreyWizzard wrote:Yeah what is the deal with Nintendo not having a booth at TGS? I find that very odd. I mean last year they gave the key speech.
