Re: Kevin11+2 - Rudd's revenge
Tony Windsor seems a decent, honourable man with the added bonus of a readily apparent disdain for Tony Abbott.
Re: Kevin11+2 - Rudd's revenge
Greg Combet has fled the Labor party. Always seemed like a switched on dude and was rather dangerous in question time. Can't stand the state of his party apparently.
Labor party is actually leading the polls right now.
It seems the public isn't as savvy as Combet.
I think it's amazing that Krudds approval was waaay down before Gillard and they were going to lose so they swap in Gillard and everyone 'Gives err a go', her approvals in the toilet, then they switch back to the guy who's approval was terrible and everythings unicorns and rainbows again. Amazing. I think what we can learn from this is never over-estimate the intelligence of the voting public. Labor knows how to roll - treat it like an episode of XFactor, give em a 'dragon slayer' story arc. Very exciting!

Gosh that Kevin Rudd is a popular bloke. Labor were smart. Nobody is going to punish Kevin for what that Julia done did.

Let's acknowledge it with a flashback to another trail-blazing female political leader. Don't mind the groupie to the right.

Jesus, that's expensive:
Spoiler!
Re: Kevin11+2 - Rudd's revenge | RIP JuLIAR
How many decimal points would you need to express 300 billion? That's the total amount of debt caused by labor (so far).
Just think. If we get a billion dollar surplus every year from now on... it will only take 300 years to pay off!

That's one thing I have noticed about supporters of this government the last 6 years. Billions now get thrown around as numbers like millions did, as if it's not much money. 2.5billion on processing boat people is a megaton of cash, if they'd kept the policies as they were there's another 2 billion straight away to put into NDIS.

Two things we've learned from Kevin Rudd's vow to 'terminate' the Carbon Tax.
1. It was a tax. Even though every man and his dog would deny it in an attempt to protect Gillard from the title of 'liar'.
2. Apparently the supposed 'compensation' for any costs passed to consumers from the 'big polluters' didn't actually cover all of the costs. Other wise, why would scrapping it save any household any money at all?
Even though this is patently obvious and backed up by open statements by the current PM, every Labor politician when pressed on these very issues, either in question time or for the press, has outright lied about these obvious truths. For years now.
Yet! Labor supporters still spin it into a positive.

They're not getting rid of the household compensation when the carbon price is reduced, so I don't understand what you're trying to say.
Re: Kevin11+2 - Rudd's revenge | RIP JuLIAR
Ah, ok.
So it's more like buying votes than evidence of constant lying over the last few years. Interesting.
Btw, if (in your words) they're simply reducing the tax, where do they get off saying they're going to 'terminate' it? Furthermore where do they get off criticising a guy who actually will terminate it, while trumpeting the fact that they will also terminate it (except they won't)?

Re: Kevin11+2 - Rudd's revenge | RIP JuLIAR
The conundrum is caused by the fact that the imprecise phrase 'carbon tax' is how the current policy is known. Funnily enough your first point was advocating the use of 'carbon tax'.
If what we have now is a carbon tax, then they can say that they have terminated it and brought in a floating market price. This is indeed what they are saying and they will get away with it because it gels with most people's understanding, who have heard 'carbon tax' said every day for the last 3 years.
If what we have now is the fixed price phase of an emissions trading scheme, then they have just brought the already-legislated move to the floating price forward by one year. This is what has happened but almost no-one cares or understands because they have had 'carbon tax' pummelled into their head for so long.
So Labor can say that they have terminated the carbon tax only because of the insistence of people like you to call the fixed price phase of an emissions trading scheme a carbon tax.
