YES! About time - we have been building toward this since the mid-90's. LJ has shown why she is the best womans ball player in the world, and I think we would have knocked off the US this time anyway.

Anyway, thats a great result. Possibly the biggest win Australia has ever had in a team sport played by so many people worldwide.

Not at soccer. But in terms of their success, it's a bigger achievement I would say.

Doesnt really matter how you compare it though, both teams did fucking awesome compared to past efforts. The Socceroos 06 campaign will hopefully pale in comparison to the next one!

Yep. This is HUGE. We now legitimately have 2 of the worlds best female Ball players in this country, and this is hopefully the first of many championships for this squad. Penny Taylor's crossover move int he 4th quarter is one of the best moves I have ever seen, by man or woman.

and penny taylor doesn't look too bad on the eye in a bodysuit. The socceroo's effort doesn't compare, the opals won, the men came 8th. Just as many countries enter the bball world championships as soccer (maybe even slightly more) so it's a huge achievement. The socceroo's won one game ffs.
