thread boot

I haven't had a chance to watch even 1 ep of this yet but I recently saw some of the action figs and they look pretty cool:
I got bumblebee cliff jumper and ratchet. I have not seen any toys from the transformers fall of cybertron videogame yet though. I am interested in getting prime.
If anyone knows when these are out LMK.

Optimus looks so bulky and tough in truck mode. But War for Cybertron Prime still looks much better in bot mode still.

Jazz looks pretty cool in car mode:
still hunting for this guy.

just watched 5 eps of season 1. I think it isn't bad at all.

I would love to see more robot blood in it to remind us that they are living beings with robot shell.

But apart from that I think it isn't bad.

One of the advantages of being cg is that they can probably fit in a bit more detail for the characters which translates into more serious looking toys. The only weakness of transformers animated was that when it came to the toys they had to be accurate to the 2d look and they seemed too "bare" when they got to leader class sizes of the toys. I do like the simple look but for those who want a more detailed look, it is not good.

The idea of putting zombie robots as enemies reminds me of bubblegum crisis a bit lol. It is also interesting to see a character die so early on in the cartoon. Noticed too that the autobots do not have human type weapons despite using human computers and stuff. Why doesn't bumblebee for instance have a crossbow grenade launcher or something like that to deal with large groups of zombie? What they need was a character who is the 'gadget geek' that invents new things for the autobots to create and use in battle for certain missions. (ie wheeljack) And a spec ops guy would test these fancy inventions to keep the fights interesting and avoid repetition. Meanwhile the decepticons are spying and use these inventions and ideas against the autobots (soundwave should be seen every ep to gather intelligence) and there would be constant race between the two sides to be the most advanced.

Just finished all of season 2. This was a great cliff hanger. I reckon they should just make a big cg movie to finish off the rest of the story instead of season 3. Humans form an alliance with megatron (they are really just slaves but there is the outer appearance that they are free) and must set up secret bases on the moon and in the caves of earth while the autobots team up with human resistors who ca build them a base. (use that construction worker character from earlier eps and make him the main character -ie he builds his own transforming vehicles and these are the humans way of fighting decepticons)

Season 3 then takes place after the events of the movie. (the return of optimus prime)

Instead what they are doing is creating a beast wars type thing as season 3:

would have preferred it if prime died or went missing and then we see a new leader.

Another Season of this show has been announced called robots in disguise:
It's considered to be linked with TFPrime according to the wikipedia article.

too bright and colourful imo. The darker tone of the early season is better.

Bumblebee is tasked with hunting the most wanted decepticons and is sent on fetch quests with some other autobots.

Flat Celshaded or toon shaded look isn't as good as cg look imo. The shadows and lighting of TFP added to the atmosphere. Probably going for a more kiddy audience this time..

I remember the first ep of TFP and it opens with the death of cliffjumper (cocky sob had it coming) and zombies and cliffjumper even bleeds. This gorey scene made the decepticons look really evil and set the tone for the rest of the show. There was one scene where Bulkhead rips out the inside of those generic decepticon troops and tells miko to look away (and she doesn't, and goes "cool" lol). That was cool robot gore. I want more of that stuff.

Hasbro should stay closer to the look of TFP imo. There are older fans who like a more gritty toon with a more mature take on the world. In TF Prime there were even some eps that have drug addiction in it as a theme - ratchet gets addicted to this substance and abuses the drug because it makes him feel strong because he is an old guy and wants to relive his youth. hehe

Toon shading to make things look like anime isn't cool anymore. The novelty has worn off and I don't get why they are doing it. The toys don't have to look like the toon so that can't be the reason. I think its just to appeal to wider audience and pass as an anime to anime watchers.

I get where they are going with this. Bumblebee is to prime now in this series what rodimus was to prime in g1:
Prime appears in ghost form like obi wan and acts as guide. Bumblebee is going whine like a bitch about having to be responsible. Then bumblebee becomes a big truck after he learns how to lead. (grows pubes and his voice cracks and starts to look at robot pornos and can legally pimp smack others for no reason while he gets to disobey orders and become a dick so can get demoted and the audience learns to hate him and prime returns to fix bumblebee's messes so hasbro can sell us new prime figure which is cooler than the older ones. Bumblebee may be a leader but not be a loved 'hero' like the legendary optimus prime who never makes noob mistakes because he is experienced)

BTW I think it is time hasbro hired japanese animators to retell the entire g1 story and make that official canon.

Let americans do the characters, japanese does the animations and fights, and correct the confusion about certain origin stories.

For instance we know grimlock and his buddies was invented by that mad professor wheeljack in early eps of g1, but in later seasons the primitives are summoned and told a different origin story!
^you can tell just by looking at this the japanese guys did this because of how good it looks lol

The toys wouldn't have to resemble the animation. They just do the whole "modern remake" thing like they've been doing with the classics, legends, universe, etc line.

Their physical body is like clothes to us but their spirit/soul/whatever is the same. Jetfire can be a macross valk on saturdays and on tuesdays he looks like generic spacefighter from a shmup game. That isn't as important as the timeline and canon story and explaining what is the true history. Remember when soundwave was a street light instead of a giant cassette player? Exactly.. Not important. But the stories need to be fixed.
