Not a dig at Sanderson, never actually finished the Wheel of Time - I stopped at Dragon Reborn because it was boring as fuck. Hack as in general. That said, GRRM has done some great work with other writers in the Wild Card shared universe so someone there could finish it. Stephen King was the same with the Dark Tower series - he procrastinated for years on the Dark Tower series until hit by that car and then pumped out the last three books in a few years. Just wish GRRM would finish it, I don't get the impression it's laziness, just not wanting to end it. Getting sick of him releasing books about the SOFAI universe as opposed to actually closing it out.Twiztid Elf wrote:Wha? Brandon Sanderson did an amazing job closing out Wheel of Time, given the enormity of the task. I would argue that he possibly did a better job than Robert Jordan would have done.
I definitely recommend his "The Stormlight Archive" series. The first book "Way of Kings" is awesome. It's just that his books come out so damn slow. Common issue.
But yeah, GRRM should get to work.

Greyworm could have been tried as a war criminal.
Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
Yep - after slaughtering helpless soldiers in Kings Landing, who here thinks he would have let Jon Snow live after he killed their Queen?

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
Jon Snow would have had his breakfast and dinner, with a side of penis. Greyworm was annoying character, on the TV series at least. He was elevated at the expense of more interesting characters like Varys. Anyway, the series is done now. Just hope the books correct a lot of the damage the last two seasons did.

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
No doubt Snow beats him one on one. The reality is they captured him and imprisoned him for 3 weeks.... surely before day 1 is over Snow's head is dislodged.

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
Yeah retarded, but not surprising given the rest of the episodes.
"Our queen does not take prisoners."
"He killed our queen! Take him prisoner!"
Also he must own a portal gun, as he's busy killing prisoners whilst Jon goes to see Dany, yet when Jon gets there Gheyworm is already there

The city was surrounded by the Stark army. Greyworm was in a catch 22, he kills Jon they all die and what his queen fought for is dead as Jon wins. At least by holding him hostage he had some leverage, that's what the entire scene was about 3 weeks later.

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
of course it's an over reaction, it's classic nerd culture where now they all want to be the first to be like "oh it's shit". Two years off gave way to unrealistic expectations and the nerds were always going to go the anti cool angle because that's what they do. People saying a lot of character arcs were pointless, you could say that for lots of them on the show, we followed characters for 2+ seasons that ended up going nowhere.Mavy wrote:I liked season 8 right up until the last episode and really thought the hate for eight was an overreaction. The finale though left me feeling nothing. There was no emotional impact. Not even when Dany was killed. I felt for Drogon but that's not where the emotional connection should be coming from.

They would have got their shit pushed in by the Unsullied, let alone the Dothraki as well. Especially being a surprise attack. Of course the size of the army changes each episode, going from 0 at the end of the night king attack, to thousands in the next epsiode.
It all changes for plot convenience so they can wrap the show up, another example is the power of the Scorpion ballista things.

All the northern army was outside the city walls, they were inside a city that was burnt to a crisp so not much food etc. It made sense to me.F for Fake wrote:Froggy wrote:The city was surrounded by the Stark army.
