Surely this thread doesn't need spoiler tags. If you haven't seen it then you're dodging mines all over the internet, you'd not come in here.

An extremely predictable finale and a fitting end to a VERY uneven season.

Hopefully it will be a better season in retrospect once season 8 is out...

Yeah I don't know about this season. It's highly entertaining, I'm enjoying it, but an extremely complicated story is now so simple and predictable. Cersei's curveball is good, but there's very little of this kind of stuff now. I honestly don't know if it's a good or bad thing, I guess it doesn't always have to complicated and full of surprises.

There were some legitimate highlights this season, in particular the poorly-named Loot Train Attack - that was brilliant. The Rickon/Dickon thing was hilarious for as long as it lasted.

But there was more dumb-fuckery this season than any other and nothing this season came close to Hold The Door or last season's finale.

Arya's character was woefully mishandled. Varys basically made a guest-appearance this season and offered NONE of the engagement he has in the past. Jon Snow continued to show his Stark side by being a fucking idiot and the entire plan to go and grab a wight to bring to King's Landing was the dumbest shit ever.

My personal highlights this season -

Loot Train Attack
Rickon/Dickon
Littlefinger's comeuppance
Creepy Bran telling Sansa how beautiful she looked the night Ramsay raped her
Any scene involving The Hound, particularly his exchange with Tormund re: Brienne
Flaming swords
Olenna's pre-death fuck you to the Lannisters

I guess the predictability comes from the fact that the focus of the show has narrowed to 2.5 story arcs - The Lannisters, The Targaryen squad and the Greyjoy in-house beef that no one really gives a fuck about.

In-fact the Greyjoy shit offends me. We were robbed of a hot lezbo scene between Ellaria Sand and Yara and instead we got more fucking THEON

I pretty much agree with all of that. I'm not on board with the Greyjoy story line. Euron had one good line and that's it, entirely. Surely Arya will be handled way better in the novels. She's still blind in the books.

I'm never really happy when the nasty characters are killed off. Joffrey was an excellent little prick. I feel kind of the same about Littlefinger. He was a complete arsehole, but he made shit happen. It feels like they killed him off because they don't really need the show to be about a Game of Thrones, but rather Zombie Battle Royale.

Capturing a wight was as stupid as it gets. I assume that will probably be in the books too.

Love Tormund and The Hound.

I really miss Tywin and to a lesser extend Randyll Tarly - both complete arse-kickers who didn't mince their words.

Tywin is the best character in the show's history IMO.

They're absolutely narrowing down the playing field but I'd much rather someone finally kill off Theon than Littlefinger!

Predictions for next season?

Dragon on dragon violence
More Targaryen incest
Less Lannister incest and Jaime kills Cersei
Cleganebowl (they set it up in the last episode)
More explanation into the Night King, his story and his powers
Jon Snow kills the Night King? Or the Night King kills everyone, is revealed as Bran Stark who got stuck in one of his time travel adventures and everyone dies?
Or a Mass Effect 3 ending where it's all a dream and the entire fanbase gets trolled so hard

I swoon pretty much every time Daenerys enters a scene. If I managed to get butt naked with her, then someone whispered in my ear she's my sister, well...

Just don't find her that hot.. it's her tiny bobbleheadness and bad actor combo I think.

I don't think I normally would either, but it's just her character... *swoon*.

Oh, the little chat between Theon and Snow was super cringeworthy by the way.

One thing they nailed this season was Daenerys' look - exactly what I would expect from a hot female Targaryen based on what I read in the various books.

They really fluffed the casting of Rhaegar in the finale too - he was described as the most handsome man in the 7 kingdoms in the books, yet on the show he looked TOO much like his ugly younger brother!

Except none of the Targaryens have purple eyes as described in the books.

Are you fucking serious?

Her eyes and lips alone are more than enough to entice the average human male. I say let science some how sample the eyes, lips, cheeks, chin and forehead for all eternity. After which there's the body and by body I mean the small but pert bosoms with nipples worthy of the King's gold.

Bad actress.....really?..........have you not seen the absolute fury in her eyes over the travesties of her people!

She's just not hot.. Melisandre is hot.

Now, her acting chops, think back to when she was in that fucking pyramid shithole city for like 2 seasons trying to act, was a horror show. Look I don't mind her nude but she doesn't get the tits out anymore.

I was discussing this with Burnzoire a few weeks ago. I think she wasn't all that great early on in the series BUT she has definitely nailed it now. What it will probably look like years later, is a girl very unsure of herself and naturally getting a lot more confidence as she matured...like a real person.

Miguel Sapochnik (director of Hardhome, Battle of the Bastards and the Season 6 finale) is returning to direct 2 of the 6 episodes for the final season.
