It was a great episode for sure, but it left me with that same thought as I had at about this stage in the last series: “Oh noooooo, they can’t possibly conclude anything meaningfully by the end of the series”. I want it to keep going obviously, but I hate the thought of everything just hanging and then having to wait so long for the next one.

10 episode seasons are not enough :( The Queen looks like she's aged 20 years since the beginning of this series!

Well. That was fucking brilliant. This show sucks so much for making the last 10 or so minutes so fucking awesome that it hurts to think that you have to wait nearly a year to see the next season.

So much goodness. At least True Blood will keep be occupied for now..

He better finish the books lol. Looking at the timeline of book releases vs making the TV series every year a book at a time the TV series will be stuck waiting on the last book for a few years :?

Was slightly underwhelmed by the finale. Probably because of the awesomeness that was last week. Enjoyed the dragons, and the last bit. Everything else sort of felt like here's what we couldn't fit in last week.

Same, Mavy.

Last week's ep made the finale seem completely underwhelming.

Felt like they got nothing done for pretty much the entire season until the end and then they leave us hanging. I'm in for next season but I honestly hope for more than what we've been dished up so far. And to be honest I'm not sure of a lot of what happens. I'm either just stupid, not paying attention or I'm supposed to have read the books or at least a GoT discussion board.

Snow kills his colleague and that somehow won him freedom. Don't know what that was about.

The Hand is almost murdered by his own sister and is replaced by his own father. Don't know what that was about.

Ned Stark marries some girl. Don't know what that was about.

The eunuch seeks the services of a whore. Don't know what that was about.

Bull Dyke kills three men protecting a man she wants to kill. Don't know what that was about.

Winterfell is liberated but when the boys emerge it's burned down. Don't know what that was about.

The Fabulous Migrating Herd from the Walking Dead just turn up and totally ignore the fat crow. Nicole explained (patiently) that he was too pathetic for even them.

He was my favourite character and that was my favourite story arc for the season. A shame that particular character can be played by numerous actors though.

I gotta say Cletus sounds like u didn't watch it too closely. The one that's not clear is the wall guy vs wall guy, I believe the point was that by killing him he knew they would untie him for defeating one of their most feared foes and then he would have a chance at some point to escape to the wall and warn the rest. All the rest made sense

I'm with Cletus. I reckon they've just got too much shit going on that they don't have enough time to flesh it all out.

Ep before was better, disappointingly. There's no excitement in the north with Robb's army anymore.. did they not move for an entire season? Or did they just walk in a circle. And it's like no one makes the right choice in this show, ever.

Didn't like season 2 much, the writers added too many things that just didn't make sense or fell flat - the biggest ones being the Ayra/Tywin arc, Daenerys in Qarth, Robb's romance and Jon Snow's characterisation and interaction with the Halfhand (who is much more of a bad arse in the books). I understand translating a book like Martin's to the screen was always going to be tough but you can do it without ignoring the spirit of the story (Blackwater is an excellent example of adjusting the story to suit TV but still getting it right). Here's an idea - do what season 1 did so well, follow the plot of the books more closely! It's not hard and when the writers do it the shows are incredible. Don't do it and your viewers start scratching their collective heads and you end up with something like the Walking Dead. Also, 13 episode seasons please! HBO would be making a mint with this show, invest more money in it to make it truly awesome.

Yup. They really should have made the season longer or spread book2 across 2 seasons to explain things properly.
I was most unhappy with the Qarth stuff. That was handled worst. The Arya/Tywin stuff was handled pretty badly too.

Really enjoyed ep9. I was worried about how they'd handle the Battle of Blackwater Bay, but they frikken nailed it. Awesome.
Ep10 had too much packed into it. Again with the Dany stuff. The House of the Undying was terrible.

"Snow kills his colleague and that somehow won him freedom. Don't know what that was about."
As Froggy says, Jon Snow killed Quron to look as though he's a traitor to the Wall and joining Mance Raider. Mance (the king beyond the wall) is a traitorous ex-black brother himself.

"The Hand is almost murdered by his own sister and is replaced by his own father. Don't know what that was about."
I thought they've sold the hatred and powergames in Kings Landing between Cersai and Tyrion pretty well.

"Ned Stark marries some girl. Don't know what that was about."
I think you're talking about Robb Stark? He's fallen in love and therefore reneged on the arranged marriage with the Freys from Season1. The Freys control the bridge across the trident and allowed Robbs army through setting up the war victories in season1. Important setup for events in season 3.

"The eunuch seeks the services of a whore. Don't know what that was about."
Yeah, not sure on this one. I think it was purely for narrative. Rose isn't a character in the books. She's purely there for narrative purposes, and I'm ok with it.

"Bull Dyke kills three men protecting a man she wants to kill. Don't know what that was about."
Brienne is sworn to Caitlyn Stark (she said that about a trillion times in ep10). Caitlyn is attempting to trade Jaime Lannister for Sansa and Arya (who Caitlyn thinks is still in Kings Landing).

"Winterfell is liberated but when the boys emerge it's burned down. Don't know what that was about."
Winterfell got totally burned down. Can't remember if it was Theon or the liberating forces. The liberating forces aren't necessarily friends of the Starks. Sure, the cover story they may be, but with the Starks completely decimated, everyones out there for themselves...

"The Fabulous Migrating Herd from the Walking Dead just turn up and totally ignore the fat crow. Nicole explained (patiently) that he was too pathetic for even them."
Lol. Yeah, that didn't sit well with me either. I resolved it by the WhiteWalkers being focused on attacking the core group of crows.

"Who was that cunt who was killing people for the stark girl? the one who's face changed, what was that all about? "
Jacquen was saved when Arya released him from the burning cage. He is a wizard that knows who Arya is, and it is hinted that he has some insight into her future.

Season3 promises to be excellent. Then after that it all goes to shit.

I think Spoiler tags for any of us who haven't read the books to if you are going to give away too much future info (not that anyone has yet just incase they are going to). I haven't read the books but most of the things cletus is confused about I thought were pretty well explained, they did rush the house of the undead stuff like all this build up to getting her dragons from these powerful warlocks. So she goes in there, gets chained up and then burns one and that's it, next thing you know she's out of the house of the undead, no explanation how and was there only one warlock the whole time? Was a bit weak but moved the story along I guess.

Grabbed the second. I enjoyed watching the first series and then reading the first book so thought I would continue in that fashion.
