When I saw the dragons I clapped, I clapped when I saw it.

That final scene was great. I only gave a fleeting thought to who Bran was talking about when he said he was waiting. I actually thought he was talking about Theon. This was better. Also so very glad that the conversation between Sam and John happened at the start of the season. I was quite impressed with the episode. Some of the green-screen stuff was pretty bad.

The green screen was terrible.. can only assume it the budget was saved for everything else. Looked like a D grade adventure film for parts with the dragons.

I agree. In episode 1, the scene were Dany and Jon were standing in front of the waterfall looked really awful.

Anyhow, episode 2 was a lot better than ep1. Lots of setup going on. Lots of feels.

The big question is by this time next week, who's going to be dead?

I'm going to stick my neck out and say either Jon or Dany will be dead.

Next week will be a cleansing as it only leaves three episodes to resolve Cersei and the Jon Danny incest fuckfest. Not sure it is the end of the white walkers after the next episode though can see the night king living on a bit further.

Tyrion to end up on the throne and Jon to die protecting Danny.

Beric, Jorah, Theon, Ed and the Little Bear. I wouldn't call any of them main characters although Sir Jorah and Theon were certainly higher tier characters. I expected a few deaths among the main players. I kind of feel ripped off. I feel as if we didn't really lose anyone of great value. The Knight King's demise was well played. The perfect character to take him out. Arya to take out Cercei wearing Jamie's face...

Fuck me that was hard to watch coz of the darkness, like I got that they went with the want to make you feel like you are there seeing what the characters are, the dark undead coming towards you but fuck me the quality that foxtel actually displayed it at was also shite and this on the cabled HD version.

We don't know who survived yet out of Pod, Sam, Breinne, Jamie and a few others who were knee deep in dead near the end of the battle nor if like Sams woman got eaten in the basement. I thought we were gonna get Sansa having to knife Ned's bones lol

I think all of those characters are alive. Certainly, Sam, Brienne and Jamie were shown.

Both the death of the knight King and the way in which he died completely surprised me. I really thought Bran was about to be killed. Then I thought Arya was done.

Nah I reckon they gave away the night king's killer ep 1 of this season and then ye Red Woman scene at the the start of this one gave it away too.

I do kind of feel like it was too quick. Even though there is only 3 episodes left. Maybe it's because he doesn't talk and there hasn't been much exposition. He's finally in front of them and bam.

Cersei will spit fire at least when (if) she goes down.

Very mixed on that episode.

The tension it created was as good as the show has ever been...but the ruthlessness the show used to have is gone because certain characters are walking around wearing plot armour now.

I had Arya making a run at the Night King and copping the wrong end of it. Given there are 3 episodes left it makes sense to wipe a major player off the board, but like many I went into the show expecting some major, major fatalities.

Mind you, Theon and Jorah aren't jabroni characters, but they're B+ players and no A-lister copped it like at least one of them should.

Theon's death however is right up there with Hodor's IMO in terms of emotional impact. Very well played.

Also in closing, Jon Snow is fucking useless - flies a dragon during the battle yet does nothing, tries to bum-rush the Night King and looks like a dingbat when NK raises the dead as he obviously would, then decides to go 1-on-1 with Visereon. C'mon man.

Did he even go one on one with Visereon? I think he was about to stand there and test his Targaryan blood against the ice and see if he was immune, is what it seemed to me seeing he was just standing there.

That Targeryan charge at the start of the battle was so damn good, the view from the cliff on the charge then the impact of the flames slowing going out. Then eveyones WTF face that followed. What the hell happened to Ghost in that charge? didn't see him return

I watched it again last night.
Definitely very dark. I must admit during the daytime yesterday there were definitely scenes where I had no clue what was happening, so it was easier to watch in the dark.
The biggest criticism I have is all the times the zombies go on smoko break. One minute they're swarming, the next the humans are legging it, then the zombies are back off smoko chasing them again.
I don't think the red woman scene at the start gave away Ice Kings killer. I thought it was the stare of death.

so few of those Dothraki riders came back from that...and only about two or three horses. So much tension in that scene. Even Ghost snarling as they got close to the dead. Big props to Milasandre. I liked how the final scene was of her dying in the cold. Glad she got naked for her final scene. I masturbated.
