Ok, about a week later with this thing - still haven't found any games I'm particularly enamoured with. Any recommendations? Just the title will do, I'll research the rest.

Infinity Blade 1 & 2, Sword and Sworcery, Deadspace, Scribblenauts, Groovecoaster, Plants vs Zombies, Carcassonne, Monkey Island 1 & 2, Peggle, Tetris....

There are so many games on there it's ridiculous.

Not surprising, the A5X was a nice heater. It was a chip pushed to the limit to meet a release date, it was only a matter of time before a die shrunk more efficient chip replaced the rushed out A5X. But looking at the release time frame, apple burnt (parden the pun) their userbase releasing it so soon. Pretty obvious now after the maps debacle and iphone5 issues that they're just now milking their userbase for a buck. Steve wouldn't of allowed a lot of this stuff to happen.

I'd be pissed if they'd made the new iPad lighter and thinner but speed is the only difference (if you don't use lte). So I'm not fussed. iPad 3 has been plenty fast for me.

I already had one foot out the door with my iPhone 4 reaching end of life and the epic lameness of the iPhone 5.

May as well jump ship while I can get some good coin. It's just a matter if that is just selling the phone or sucking it up and getting rid of the "Not so New iPad" at the same time.
Apple going down the slippery Android arms race slope.

Also if you want a fucking spare lightning charging cable too fucking bad. No local stores have any and if you want one its a 2+ week wait from Apple store (as of yesterday). Every cunt knew apple were changing connectors 5 months ago except apple themselves apparently!

Basically Apple are giving people reasons (fully valid or not) to start looking at alternatives.

Apple left a window here for MS/Google to execute on, general vibe on this announcement is pretty underwhelming, stock is down 3% today so the market doesn't like it, actually Apples been on a large slide from it's high in recent weeks.

It's becoming quite apparent Apple is not longer innovating but just competing. At least they have a bunch of obvious patents they can fall back on for the next few years.

My iPhone 4 contract finished up last month, was going to grab something new on a new contract, but have decided to stick with the iPhone until it dies I guess. Upgrading to another iPhone is pointless. Managed to get a prepaid account through woolworths, 29 bucks, lasts 45 days. You get 5 gig and a few $100 in calls and it's on the optus network which I was previously with. I don't get why the big 2 can't offer deals like this. On my next phone upgrade I will be leaving the flock...

I hadn't read that this at the time of posting. That's great that they are doing that. Sucks for those who bought one 32 days ago and for those elitists who simply have to have the most up to date tech.

Yep used my mates and well I see no need to upgrade.
On the iPhone 5 apps load seconds quicker.... Not worth it.
Wow a whole extra line of apps, again not worth it.
Siri.....Meh. 3d maps.....meh. Panaromic photos....I have 2 apps for that.
The biggest joke about those top 3 features, they are all software based and can run on most early iPhones without an issue. But Apple are cunts and make you upgrade if you want those features. I'm not falling for that shit like all the Jobs knob jockies.

Again I use my phone for calls, text and browsing the net along with the occasional game to waste time. So what's the point of forking out 70 bucks a month or $800+ for the iPhone 5?? Like I said its pointless upgrading from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5.

My iPhone is still like new after 3 years. All apps I use still run like a dream. I'm currently on a plan of a $100+ in calls along with 5 gig of download which you would never get on a new plan without paying big bucks
