They called WoW extremely violent and showed him swearing and throwing a mouse. Then a shot of his mum crying and saying shes losing her son to the game.

He plays a Paladin by the way.

Is that only because it's an alliance character or is there some kind of elite notion about playing as a paladin?

If there is some elitism regarding paladins then I get the idea that it's probably like this "I'm a level 60 epic shaman with level 60 epic hunter alt and 6 low level Alliance toons on another server but I'd never play as a paladin because that's too geeky".

Paladins are for people who have no skill.

Plate armour, healing, bubbles. They can basically get themselves out of trouble when you fuck up.

Funny, you'd expect them to slap some sense into the mum. The kid basically gets to do what he wants when he wants by the gist of it.

I be fair to the mum, the kid was punching holes in the wall, in all the years of gaming I've done, i have never done that over a game. How many single mums do you know that can control a violence prone teenager with an addiction problem?

I would say like most parents dealing with addict children it's not easy, you could just throw them out on the street but some parents can't bring themselves to do that and it may not solve the problem only make it worse. I guess the problem is most parents don't seek out professional help, i think this woman was crying out for some professional help. She probably has no idea how to stop this. I guess these sort of addictions are so new that probably even professionals don't have any idea of how to really break the habit.

Hopefully aca do the right thing and help her son out.

Just watched it, fucking scrubbers, not worthy of a story. She obviously does nothing to make him stop, I mean look at their house anyway his bedroom door is all crumpled with a sheet. Scrubbers in need of cash will always bring ACA into their households.

Whilst I can see what Froggy is saying, there is actually a real basis to their story. I believe that gaming/internet addiction is a serious and very real problem.
