While Prince's move to England has gone up in smoke, Parramatta is among a number of clubs weighing up whether to make a move for Wigan forward Gareth Hock - who returned from a two-year drug suspension last year - as it looks to strengthen its squad for 2013.

Hock was one of the best players in Super League before returning a positive drug test for cocaine in 2009. He returned last year with Wigan, signing a five-year contract and regaining his place in the England set-up.

While his deal is still in its infancy, it is understood Wigan will not stand in his way if he finds a club in the NRL. As a result, Hock has been shopped around to clubs and it is understood several, including the Melbourne Storm, investigated signing him for next season.

However, the Eels shape as his most likely destination after former England halfback Bobby Goulding took to twitter to announce his countryman had signed a four-year deal with Parramatta.

While Parramatta officials insist no deal has been done, it could yet to signed if the club can make some room under its salary cap for 2013.

Why wouldn't you sign Prince under those circumstances? We've struggled in the halves last year, Prince had a good year, we can get him for a mere $200k in 2013. Had Brisbane paid full price I'd be all kinds of against it.

I hear Folau gave his all to training, the club, appearances etc. Mind you he was paid well to do so. His integrity remains unscathed by this exercise unlike the AFL.
