Re: NFL Season 12-13
There are reports of that but they're unconfirmed. Also the story about losing to Miami the week before is also in dispute.

Miami are going to be good in a few years as Tannehill gets more experience. Cleveland are never going to be good.

Great game from Kaepernick in his first start . Hopefully this pushes Smith to get even better, because Kaep looked damn good and sense people will start calling for Smith's head.

They got fucking clowned hardcore today. I wouldn't want to be the team/s playing Seattle in the playoffs. 150 points in 3 weeks is crazy.

Re: NFL Season 12-13
Playoff time ladies.
Vikings @ Packers
Bengals @ Texans
Seahawks @ Redskins
Colts @ Ravens
Broncos, Patriots AFC bye teams
Falcons, 49ers NFC bye teams
Both NFC games are mouth-watering. The Packers/Vikes game today was fucking awesome, and Seattle/Washington should be a very high-scoring game as well.
My breakdown going into the playoffs is as follows...
Contenders:
Denver - home field advantage, HOF QB, fantastic running game, good defense that always gets to play from behind. Hard to see any of the AFC teams going in to Denver and taking them out.
San Fran - picked them to make the Superbowl before the season even started, so I'm not backing down now. As long as they can get healthy during their week off. The only team they'd have to play on the road in the playoffs would be Atlanta, and I'd back the Niners to beat them comfortably. If they have to play Seattle it'll be at Candlestick - advantage Niners.
New England - Gronk is back. If he can get close to 100% during the week off then good luck stopping this offense. I think they'll be in Denver for the AFC Championship game.
Green Bay - provided their defense can get a few stops they're capable of beating anyone in the conference. They're the only NFC team with a playoff-winning QB, and they were champs only two years ago.
Pretenders:
Atlanta - the Falcons sit at the head of the table when it comes to talking playoff pretenders. I'm not giving them any credit until they win a playoff game. I wouldn't back them to beat any of the wildcard teams in a playoff game.
Houston - see above. They've also got the wobbles at the wrong time. They'll beat the Bengals again but then they'll get killed in the Divisional round.
Cincinnati - good defense, but I don't think they've got the consistent offense to contend, plus their coach is a bonehead. Look for some stupid decisions against Houston to cost them dearly.
Baltimore - they're in full collapse mode. Flacco is fucking terrible and they have no defense anymore.
Indy - temporary pretenders. In a season or two they will not be. They're here to learn, and I think they'll even beat Baltimore but that's about it.
Vikings - until Ponder gets more consistent, they go as far as Peterson carries them. If this was 2009 and Favre was QB it would be a different story.
Dark Horse:
Two of them for mine - Washington and Seattle. Since they play each other in what will surely be a shootout, one of them has to go. With RGIII nowhere near 100% I am leaning towards Seattle pulling out the road win in a supremely entertaining game. I think either team are capable of pulling off a massive upset or two in the playoffs.

Re: NFL Season 12-13
^ Ahahaha. Yup. Was great to watch Romo.
Yesterday I watched Bears/Lions, Chargers/Raiders (last chance to watch the Chargers - and no point watching the Pats smash the Fins) was a horrible spiteful ugly game, the end of the Vikes/Packers, and the Cowboys/Redskins game.
Broncos - Very dangerous.
Patriots - Very dangerous.
Texans V Bengals - Really don't care for this game at all. Texans are pretenders. Bengals are ok, but won't go far into the playoffs.
Colts V Ravens - Interesting game. Don't write the Colts off. At all. The Ravens are dangerous and hungry. Don't read anything into yesterdays Ravens. Ray Lewis will be back too.
Falcons - Pretenders.
49ers - Dangerous. Their offense is going to struggle to get them to the SB though.
I agree Candy, the two NFC games are going to be frikken off the hook.
Vikings - All about AP. He'll be shut down at some point, and the Vikes will be out.
Packers - Dangerous.
Seahawks v Redskins - Game of the week for mine. Both these teams are scary for anyone. I'll bet there are 10 teams right now happy seeing these teams playing each other in week 1.

Re: NFL Season 12-13
I'm fully writing the Ravens off. Their defense was getting killed before Ray Lewis got injured, his return won't mean anything in terms of on-field production. Over the hill.
I think the Ravens/Colts game is a toss-up, either team can win and either team will get hammered in the following week.

Re: NFL Season 12-13
I also believe the Bengals/Texans game will be a lot closer than last year's playoff game. Both defenses are legit, I think it comes down to which team gets to play with a lead and can then turn their defense loose after the QB. Should be a great game for defensive statisticians.

I think the Niners are quite capable of being the most complete team in the NFC. If their offense clicks there's no reason they shouldn't make the Superbowl.

Well shit, Ray Lewis announced his retirement at the perfect time. I think I may have to change my tip to the Ravens this weekend.
