So, Star Trek Discovery season 2 is currently streaming.

Tremendous acting, great writing, and glorious visuals.
Yeah it's not traditional Trek, but the world has moved on from TV shows with weekly standalone episodes. It's great to see Trek employing long form storytelling.

I like Discovery a lot, apart from the bits where it tries to force 2018/2019 SJW shit down your throat.

In terms of long form storytelling, DS9 did it to great effect in the final two seasons of the show. Still the best Trek has ever been IMUO.

Yeah, DS9 was great. It really showed us how good scifi could be if the studios let it.

I've really enjoyed Brooklyn Nine Nine, but season 5 is just really difficult to watch. It's way too preachy.

Veep season 7 is all wrapped up. It also completes the series and it ended WAY better than Game Of Thrones. One of the best written comedies I've watched in recent years.

Chernobyl was epic, flushed out the bad taste of the GOW finale. Love Jared Harris, would watch him in anything. The fourth episode was the best and worst thing I've ever seen on television (if you're a dog lover it's tough to watch). Just recently binge watched Hanna on Amazon Prime and now Bosch season 5 is out. Hanna was awesome after a slowish start. Looking forward to season 2. Already starting to forget GOW in the face of all this good content.

The first thing I did after watching the finale of Chernobyl was start watching the show from the very start again.

There was literally nothing about it that wasn't brilliant.

I fully suspect HBO knew how the final episode of GOT was going to be received and had Chernobyl primed to ensure people didn't terminate their subscriptions to their service.

Agree. And the new season of Wentworth, which they promoted pretty heavily during GoT.

"The Boys" on Amazon Prime (or PirateBay Time). Makes The Watchmen look like The Super Friends. Kind of a bad thing, but makes for gripping viewing. Worth checking out the first episode to see if it's your thing, atleast.

The Boys is a great show. Up to the last Episode now. It is the total opposite of everything the MCU stood for (even though the characters are a more direct parody of the Justice League).

The first episode really introduced everything well. I've given the same recommendation to friends. Watch the first episode and you'll know if you want to keep watching.

The Righteous Gemstones.

I feel like I've already posted this but the new Danny McBride show is nearly done for the first season. It's as good as Eastbound and Down and Vice Principals. The season finale will be next week. There's something about Danny McBride, I love him. All three of his shows are similar, they don't follow the ordinary sitcom-style format. Each show is a story rather than just a new situation for each episode. If you haven't watched his stuff, I can honestly recommend you do. Start with Eastbound and Down. I personally think it's the best, but they're all good shows. It's melancholy, dumb and puerile and completely endearing. And that description would apply for each of his shows.

Eastbound and Down is awesome, s many memorable moments, was actually thinking about it today when I saw McBride pop up on telly. Still need to see Vice Principals.

One of the semi-main characters in Vice Principals is a main character in Gemstones. I think she's probably the best character in TRG.
