Re: TV Shows
That's not really saying much given what has come after Rogue One, but I'm still going to watch it. I've got battered wife syndrome as far as Star Wars is concerned.

Re: TV Shows
Just watched 2 seasons of Dark on Netflix. It's German made, there's not much I can tell you about it with out spoiling it. Basically a kid goes missing in a small German town and well things get messed up...

Re: TV Shows
The Witcher is officially out on Netflix.
Re: TV Shows
Just finished watching season 4 of The Expanse. Gets better every season, so glad it's found a home on Amazon. Dark is one of the best shows on television at the moment, I think I read somewhere season 3 will be the last which is probably fair enough. So much good television on at the moment - will be watching The Witcher today. The only disappointment for me this year was Watchmen - I wish Warner Bros would leave this series alone, it was perfect for what it was - this uber-injection of wokeness BS is getting tiring now.
Favourite shows over the last few years now:
Mr Robot
Dark
Fargo (so happy this got another season)
The Mandalorian
The Man in the High Castle (shame it has ended but the ending was a great payoff for all the characters)
The Boys
The Mechanism
The Frankenstein Chronicles
Bodyguard
Dogs of Berlin
Bosch
The Looming Tower
Counterpart (probably my favourite on the list. It'll never get a season 3 but it took all the potential of Fringe and condensed it into two seasons of excellent acting)
Babylon Berlin
Guilty pleasures:
The Crown
Goliath
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan
Carnival Row
StartUp
Looking forward to in 2020
The Boys
Penny Dreadful - City of Angels (actually did fist pump when I heard this was coming back, hopefully the ending is scripted better)
Any the above new seasons

Ricky Gervais's After Life on Netflix, one of the best shows of 2019. The dude is an amazing director, writer and one of the funniest cunts who doesn't give a shit.

Re: TV Shows
Is that the show where he gets called a pedo by the ginger kid? Seen some of it, very funny.

Re: TV Shows
"You" on Netflix has been pretty great. Protagonist stalker who sees himself as the nice guy and gets you with his own narration. Both seasons so far have been pretty damn fun.

Just finished watching Season 1 of The Mandalorian - this is a great show, and heaps better than the new Star Wars movies.
I really like the pace of the show, and the character developments. Can't wait for Season 2.

Re: TV Shows
It's extremely rare I wade into the murky waters of TV shows. I usually find them extremely insulting.
I will allow: South Park, Married with Children, and The Office (US and UK).
That's my lot. Fuck the rest of that shit.
But, if somethings going to twist my arm, it's going to be a bio-pic about one of my favorite bands.
Wu-Tang an American saga on Stan.
Oh fuck yeah. This is some good shit right here.
Poor RZA. Really shows how everything and pretty much everyone were hard against him all the way, but true talent and determination shines through.
Just finished Ep8, and it feels like the only people that truly had his back were Meth, ODB, Raekwon and GZA.
Episode 8 was brutal. Love the Tribe Called Quest shoutout in the episode description "Industry rule 4080"... Record company people are shadyyyy. Indeed.
I hope these last two eps end on the clan dropping Protect Ya Neck, and go out on a high.
Roll on season 2.

Re: TV Shows
Star Trek Lower Decks
Two episodes in, and it's desperately unfunny, and does sweet fuck all to expand the Star Trek lore. There's not even a sense that there's a big overarching storyline, and it completely apes the Final Space art style.
I'm going to keep watching it of course, but it's just not good. At this point in time, I couldn't give a shit if it's not picked up for a second season.

That looks cool.
I really wish prospective customers were able to browse their content.
The "horror" offerings on Stan and Netflix are fucking woeful.

Re: TV Shows
At this stage content isn't huge like other services, but there is enough to keep me interested for now. There is a few shudder made shows along with exclusives. Mainly watched Creepshow series which is amazing along with Eli Roth's history in horror. Used a VPN and the US service is way better. No Job Bob's drive in on the Oz service yet, but apparently they are pumping out some stuff leading up to Halloween. For 6 bux a month, it ain't a bad price to check it out. It can only get better and assume the same licensing issues are what is holding it back.

Re: TV Shows
Is the app only on iOS, Android and PC for now or are some TVs and media boxes supported?

I have to app on my Sony TV. The app is available on consoles in the US but not here yet. The streaming quality isn't all the great which is a let down, i think its only 720p

Yo Gabba Gabba is objectively a better TV show than Masked Singer. Change my mind.

Re: TV Shows
Yo Gabba Gabba is a joy to watch sometimes. Both of my kids have loved it. I was grateful they did. THe Masked Singer looks terrible, but I can only go from the promo's I've seen during commercial breaks for the news. Because I'm old.Twiztid Elf wrote:Yo Gabba Gabba is objectively a better TV show than Masked Singer. Change my mind.

Re: TV Shows
I kinda missed the window on Yo Gabba Gabba. The boys were too old for it when it came out. I'm aware of its subtle genius though.
Swings and roundabouts though. We got classic (and sometimes very dark) Thomas the Tank Engine seasons, versus these trash seasons they make these days.

Re: TV Shows
Star Trek: Lower Decks
Tried way too hard to be Star Trek and came off feeling nothing like Star trek. Cheap jokes and predictable setups, and an art style that completely apes Final Space. It wasn't complete trash though. The ending was interesting, and I'm tentatively interested in Season 2.
Raised By Wolves
I really wish Ridley Scott would keep his search for god to himself. If you thought Prometheus is a little on the nose with regards to that, you'll be completely taken aback by this show. Right from the outset, it's about Theists vs Atheists.
Aside from that though, it's really quite good.
