Ducktales intro was fantastic.
Also this next example wasn't a TV show, but it was adapted from the TV show in the best possible way if you ask me.

Re: Best cartoon show intros
I like this song from a cartoon I remember watching:
Sounds like a cool song made for an epic RPG.
cartoon intro animation (short version of song):
Remember this cartoon?:
"We were betrayed by the humans we were frozen to protect..frozen in stone by a magick spell for a thousand years. Now the spell is broken...AND WE LIVE AGAIN!"
Bloody reptilians fucking over the gargoyle.
that dudes voice is cool. And so was that cartoon. Too bad cartoons of today have gone all shitty on us.. I may rewatch that cartoon again sometimes because I remember how good the animation in it was.
GrayWizard why can't Transformers look as cool as Gargoyles?? When is Disney going to buy Hasbro?
edit:
all the eps for The Legend of Prince Valiant can be found on this guy's channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/ValiantYK?feature=watch" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
first ep part 1:

pretty brutal series (people die in it) but it has morals in it much like fist of the north star. That was back in the day when toons were not just about violence only but there was some message in the stories. If you have any older children get them to watch this and robotech. Fuck today's toons.
FROM THE 1991 SOUNDTRACK ALBUM "THE LEGEND OF PRINCE VALIANT"
BY CANADIAN DUO "EXCHANGE" (STEVE SEXTON, GERALD O' BRIEN) AND FEATURING VOCALS BY MARC JORDAN.
A POWERFUL TUNE...FROM SOME GREAT MUSICIANS!

Pfft did she have a sex tape "leaked"? Did she even show her twat everytime she got out of a car? Hardly outrageous... -_-GW2cameout wrote:You all forgot the most truly, truly outrageous intro ever.

Re: Best cartoon show intros
this thread has made me want to hunt down the old dvd releases of the cartoons.
Especially Prince Valiant dvd set. (rewatched a few eps on youtube)
I think if they made a new version of macross, (please release subtitles so we can import it, give it way smoother animation than the old tv series but with the same crazy background detail) a new version of prince valiant, (similar to the treatment thundercats recently got with better animation but keep the freaking awesome sountrack from the 90s animated series, try to be as close to the comic as you can) and gave us new transformers series that has the quality of TF animated but more detailed artstyle and in 2d hand-drawn form.. then I would be happy. I never liked the oversimplified art style from TFA lol. I want Megatron to look like a terrifying monster created from decepticons evil experimentation ie frankenstein monster. That is they fear him because he looks scary. You can't do that with art style designed for humour.
90s stuff was pretty good: X-men tas, batman tas, teknoman, dragon ball z, prince valiant, etc
One thing the 00s did better? *Ninja Turtles. Much more comic accurate and darker.
*I know I just insulted ninja turtle fans of the 80s but I hate that they play up the "teen" part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles too much by having them be into xtreme sports and shit. I prefer serious ninjas who can joke around and just happen to be young and inexperienced, not teenagers who just happen to be ninjas too if you know what I mean.. Less about popping zits and skateboards and surfing and eating junkfood, and more sneaky ninja fighting stuff thanks.
2012 version looks bad.

Transformers DROIDS Zelda Sky Commanders COPS Inspector Gadget Care Bears Gummi Bears Fat Albert (try and tell me the moustachioed dude in the pilot cap isn't from Teknoman)
Bravestarr. Denver Gargoyles

Re: Best cartoon show intros
Oh man how has this not appeared yet... absolute classic. His voice was great too.
The '80s Turtles intro was pretty great imo, very fun. I imagined it hasn't been pimped here because it's so well known.
Camp Candy was a cartoon I really loved, especially its intro, yet I don't know why. I would get up so early for it, on at some stupid hour, but I couldn't say what I liked about it. It just struck a chord with me. I don't think it's cool enough to post here though.
Earthworm Jim wasn't all that amazing as a cartoon, but he was pretty awesome as a character.
