US gun control measures released by Obama overnight from what I have read include a military assault rifle ban, high capacity magazine ban, criminal background checks for all new purchases, closing a gun show loophole that provides for anyone to buy whatever over the counter and a new federal gun trafficking law sought extensively by local government to keep out-of-state guns off their streets. Nothing not already flagged but now formalised.
