SBW is playing for the Roosters next season. That decision is probably why he also backflipped and decided to play for NZ.
Also... the Panthers membership stuff has photoshopped the new logo onto jerseys and altered them a bit. Think this could be basically what our 2014 jersey is. I think the new logo looks pretty nice on the jerseys. Looks clean and and less obtrusive then our current logo.

Oh snap, I didn't expect to see that! Good, makes the move to play for NZ in this world cup so much more credible.
Here's another 'oh snap' moment:

Pirtek also got naming rights for Parra Stadium, after the Eels apparently asked them too much to keep the jersey sponsorship.
I wouldn't mind the gradient jersey if it didn't have a stupid white box on it

I prefer the home jersey. Sad to see the banana jersey go, I loved it.

I watched the first half then the second half this morning. Thought England got a few dud calls but the better team won. Looking forward to more games, loved it being in HD on Seven with Vossy

NRL bid for Hunt
Gold Coast code-hopper Karmichael Hunt is expected to receive a lucrative offer to return to the NRL, according to The Sunday Mail.
Hunt, 25, will be out of contract with the Suns at the end of next season and former Brisbane Broncos teammate Justin Hodges has pleaded with his close mate to quit the AFL and help him return the Broncos to success.
The Suns are expected to fight hard to retain Hunt.
"Everyone knows the type of player Karmichael was (at the Broncos), but he is still young enough to come back and be a success again in rugby league," Hodges told The Sunday Mail.
"He's been to rugby and AFL, he's had a good crack at those sports and he's an outstanding athlete. But I think home for him has always been rugby league and it would be great for the Broncos if he came back.
"There are rumours around he could come back and I hope the Broncos show interest because he made his name at our club."

Re: Official NRL 2013 Thread | Sixty Eight is enough
I'd like for him to come back. I don't see the point in playing a code where you won't have near the same name you would in another code.
Hodges has stepped up as a senior player a lot lately, I like it. Doesn't look like career over for him yet either, he's targeting a round 1 return. But he said Hoffman should make way for Barba at fullback because Hoffman doesn't have the ball-playing skills needed to be a damaging fullback these days. He's absolutely right, but now Hoffman is crying and wants out. With Milford telling Canberra he won't be back and likely to sign with Brisbane officially next month, poor old Hoffman looks screwed in the fullback dept.

Oh man, I was up late last night flicking through channels, ended up watching a replay of a baseball game completely forgetting about a certain World Cup. FML

Re: Official NRL 2013 Thread | Sixty Eight is enough
I only saw a few minutes of it in the smoko room this morning before work, around the 68th minute. Money Bill Williams had just scored with half his leg over the end line.Megaman wrote:This NZ v Samoa game is awesome.
*goes to check scores*
*Edit*
Looks like the Kiwis got a couple in the remaining 10mins.
I'd love to watch a few of the early games, see how some of these lesser known (to league) countries play like the US.

Re: Official NRL 2013 Thread | Sixty Eight is enough
Panthers World Cup players have done very well so far. Dean Whare, Sika Manu and Kevin Naiqama all taking out man of the match in their games.
Our recruitment has been exceptional since Gus signed with us. The only terrible signing so far is Wes Naiqama... but that could have also been what helped us sign Kevin. There's also a question mark over Jamie Soward and Peter Wallace. But I'll back them to improve the side over Luke Walsh and Isaac John/Travis Burns/Tom Humble etc. Although we still have Isaac John if one fails to perform, aswell as Matt Moylan hopefully shifting to the halves. I'm expecting that Soward will fire up and dominate for us, while Wallace will do an average job and only be keeping the jersey warm until we sign/develop a decent halfback.
Also the official jersey for 2014 is:
But the coloring is a bit off and it's actually grey stripes (looks browish in this picture). The following photo is a bit more accurate for the colors:
I think the logo looks fantastic on a jersey... and it looks more professional then the one it replaced. Such an improvement from that shitty leak of it earlier. The design isn't too bad of the jersey, but I was hoping we would go for a strip similar to our 91 jersey like our heritage jersey from a few years back. IMO it's the best jersey we have ever worn.
