Lawsuit forces Microsoft to stay mum about Xbox Live status

It looks like we won't be seeing another barrage of Xbox Live status updates like we saw in the past few weeks anytime soon, at least as long as that little lawsuit is going on down in Texas. That unfortunate word comes from none other than Major Nelson, who said in his podcast that Microsoft can no longer update gamers on the situation due to "legal issues." Those constraints apparently even extend as far as the Major's Twitter page, leaving gamers in the dark in the event of yet another Xbox Live outage. In case you missed it, the lawsuit in Texas was filed after the outage in December by three disgruntled gamers, who claim that Microsoft knew activity would be at a peak during that time of year but "failed to provide adequate access and service to Xbox Live and its subscribers." No word on any progress in that suit just yet, but we're guessing that Microsoft and Xbox users alike are hoping it gets wrapped up as soon as possible.
I'm waiting for a decent price, at the most $599 (cause HD movies have me suckered in) but even at that price I would like at least one must have game.
Live's been great for four years and now its shit because of a few tech issues ?
Is it not fixable ? .....serious question, I'm not really up on what's been happening lately, however over the last few months when I have logged in there's been no problems (that I'm aware of).
I can understand wanting to fill out the game library with PS3 though, in the past I was always a multi-platformer.

there were issues for a few days during the christmas period due to a large number of users joining live. This annoyed a few people and now we are all getting a free arcade title.
But now everytime there is a slight slow down in the dash loading on boot or connecting to the shop or friends lists, people go full paranoid and demand millions.

Absolutely, I was always a multi-platformer, it just doesn't suit my circumstances now otherwise I'd be joining you all on the PS3 to supplement the 360.
