Today's games

StarTropics (NES)
Alien Storm (MD)

Apparently StarTropics is really good.
For a NES game.

I am a massive fan of Alien Storm... man that is so damn tempting. It was just so much fun. Pure scifi awesomeness.

Also, a suicidal robot as a playable character is always awesome.

I remember playing that all the time in arcades: Lots of fun if you like hack n slash games.

It's really just golden axe with alien pest control characters as a mod. :D

pretty much, but it is top fun. The 3D shooting bits were very cool. Bl;owing the shit out of department stores... it really captures that action scifi movie feel.

stickying threads like this is shit, no one notices when they get updated

but... it's up the top and you just check it sometime after 10am on friday.

I think stickying it is a good idea. Mainly because I suggested it... but also because it makes it aesy to find, and if you are updating it, you don't need to search for it, it's always there.

Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers (SNES)

That's all. Maybe Nintendo figured we wouldn't realise we only got one game since the name is long enough for 2 or 3 games.

As much as I love Super Street Fighter II I don't feel the need to buy it again. I think I might even have the cart floating around somewhere...

Anyone have any idea how the d-pad on the classic controller fares with these 2d fighters? I'm a bit tempted...the xbla SF2 is kinda crippled by the 360 d-pad. PSP versions of SF2 are kinda unappealing because of hte dpad too. would pick this up if it was playable...

I agree with stickying the thread.

It's been announced that the Master System will be on the Virtual Console as well.

cool news. I can't think of any titles I want on the MS, but it is still awesome to here. Maybe some of the Wonderboy games under their original titles... oh oh Alex Kidd!

The SMS version of California games is better than the MD.

For me, games also worth mentioning are: Enduro racer, r type, ghost busters, wonderboy, shinobi, alex kid(the good one that is impossible to find a standalone cart of i.e. the built in one).

Also the 8bit versions of sonic are considerably different games from the 16bit versions. I'm sure unfnk or someone can give my list a bit more flesh if they feel like adding to it.

Probably a bit OT, but the F-Zero X VC title made me go out and find F-Zero GX. Caaaarn, do a Wii version now please.

I got Baseball Stars 2 (Neo Geo) today. AWESOME game! One of the most fun baseball games I've played.

On the other hand, Street Fighter 2 Turbo (SNES) really sucks balls with the Classic controller.

Looking forward to checking out Baseball stars 2, but based on Mulletman's comment will pass on SF2. I already have plenty of games that suck balls, dammit.

Fantasy Zone and Alex kidd were the only games I really played often on MS.

Although Zillion was pretty interesting. Never won that. So I wouldn't mind seeing it again.
