Parker and Stone Making Two New Movies
Source: Variety August 22, 2006
"South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have set two live-action films at Paramount.
Parker and Stone will first make the Jeff Roda-scripted high school comedy My All-American. They plan to follow with Giant Monsters Attack Japan!, a film scripted by J.F. Lawton (Under Siege) that will combine live-action with the "rubber suit" techniques made popular in Asian imports like Godzilla.
Parker will direct each film and Stone produce; both will work on the scripts with the writers. Sean Daniel and Nickelodeon will also be producers on "Giant Monsters."
Parker and Stone are aiming for a 2007 production start, timed to a hiatus from "South Park," which this week launched its 10th season.
My All-American will sport a young cast, marking the first time Parker and Stone have worked with real actors since the pre-"South Park" features Cannibal: The Musical! and Orgazmo

Doubt it will happen- I remember Trey at the time saying if given a choice between his mum dying and making another marionette film, his mother would be dead, without a second thought.Spoonfan wrote:I just want a Team America sequel.

Went to see Miami Vice. Very good.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead man's Chest. Also another goody.
But I'm sick of remakes too. Get some new ideas hollywood.

I saw Renaissance on the weekend. Some of the voice acting was dodge and some of the english translation was pretty bad and scenes seemed out of place or unneccessary because of it. It was very pretty but a bog standard detective tale. The french voices might have helped the pacing a little but you can't get past the standard storyline.
It was an okay film, but you really should pay to see it. Wait for a rental.

Agreed. You can't improve on the awesomeness that guys like Van Damme, Stallone, Arnie etc. delivered us in the 80's and 90's.Ambrose Burnside wrote:Trying to re-make an Arnie movie is like trying to improve perfectionScullibundo wrote:That annoyed me nearly as much as when I heard they wanted to re-make Predator.
Watched Lionheart the other day... i wasn't sure if i had seen it or not. But about 5 minutes in i remembered which movie it was... and why Van Damme kicks ass. But hell, i even enjoyed Street Fighter

Flight of the Phoenix - 7/10
Decent movie. Although a bit too long. Felt like a cheap rip-off of lost to me. Plane crashing. Wind ripping peoples skin off (smoke monster). Crazy fuckers we know nothing about wanting to kill them (others). etc.
Not sure if i'd watch it again. I bought it last year on DVD and only just got around to watching it now.
Dennis Quaid is also pretty cut aswell. He's in his 50's and the fucker is in good shape. He looks like he might be in his late 30's/early 40's at worst to me in this movie.

I rewatched the matrix today and I noticed that the use of 5.1 sound was pretty pathetic. Almost the entire movie is on the front speakers. All ambient sounds are heard on the back speakers, and they are really only used for special effects. Most you will hear sound coming from the back is the lobby shootout scene and the Neo Bullet Dodge scene. Other then that, front speakers. Kinda dissapointing and a real waste of 5.1
Movie still looks freaking awesome, and still smokes the sequels in terms of story.

Watched this on Sunday.Scullibundo wrote:V for Vendetta is out on dvd finally. I picked up the 2 disc tin today and it looks awesome. Have to run to work now but might give impressions of the extras later in the week. Great movie
Really liked it, one of those movies that builds to an almost inevitable conclusion but which gets there in a really fun and unique way.
