I know I know... but I was thinking, hmmm IDW could be good. It could be good, but the artwork is just eye hurting. All the metal and angles. It would have been horrible to draw. The transformers don't really look like anything so it is hard for you to accept them as anything at all. Your eyes and brain just don't seem to click onto what you are looking at.
Yeah, exactly. Half the appeal of the original designs was that you could easily see how Optimus as a robot could turn into a truck. And he was thick and bulky and tough as shit. Sure, it was never super realistic, but it's a fucking cartoon.
Scientifically impossible for robots to look better than this:

They did a 4 parter on Megatron awhile back... can't think of the name of it. But it was all about how Megatron became the leader of the Decepticons.
It was pretty cool, and he was pretty bad arse... but I dunno, the whole opressed group of society angle... ehh... it just doesn't really cut it for me. It seems that we are meant to feel sorry for the way the Autobots were treating others. Like they are some big lame government.

I just finished reading Preacher. It was fucking awesome.
It started out really strong, then lagged for a little while there (around 30-40) and picked up momentum again for an awesome finish.
Based on Grey's comments I'll be reading Hitman next - I know I can't go wrong with Garth Ennis.

I wish they would release Hitman in a collection. I really just want to own the series. Just give us the first issue from Bloodlines, you can skip all of The Demon, and then just give us the series with the specials, and also add in the recent 2 parter JLA special. Awww man that 2 parter was so awesome. It just brought back such great memories.
I think Hitman was his best writing ever. I love Preacher to bits, and I love his reboot of The Punisher for Marvel MAX... but Tommy Monaghan is just the best character ever.

Marvel is doing a 3 part adaption of Stephen King's The Stand.
I dunno if they are like 3 thick volumes or what... I've seen some artwork and sketches and it is pretty.
Please keep me in the loop please Grey

I was curious about the upcoming Frank Miller's Will Eisner's The Spirit and decided to check out the original comic.
I had a bit of a hunt around and found pretty much the entire series, and I have to admit, for something from 1940 the writing is pretty damn tight. The dialogue feels a bit short and butchered (probably by editors) but the narration is dark and gritty. It's really poetic. The dude was writing outside of his time.
I might put up a few scans of the artwork because it is pretty awesome too. Also, I want to post some of the totally awesome racially offensive stuff
I'll also try and put up some of the 3D stuff. I had a pair of glasses lying around and comics look that much better n 3D
I'll have to do it this evening after work, so it might take a little while but I will post stuff.
