I tried the latest webkit nightly and oh my fucking god gmail was incredibly fast.
I love competition in the browser space. The acid3 race saw some very intensive development in a short period of time and now google laying down the gauntlet with V8 has caused javascript implementations across all browsers exponentially.
It's a very exciting time in browser development right now.

What, you want him to take them off?Madmya wrote:It's a bit hot to be wearing jeans, isn't it?
Also, Safari's great, but it's shit. Great at being shit, that is (try using Netbank sometime)... and unfortunately, Chrome/Chromium is aesthetically identical with its annoyances (no extensions, no 'Live Bookmark' support, etc).

Chrome is shit. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and I'm over it. There's a lot I like about it, but critical faults like in text boxes (like the one I'm currently typing in at the moment) words randomly disappear then reappear. It's really frustrating.
nrl.com barely runs in chrome as well, though that site might struggle in any browser for me.
What's the general consensus for best browser? I just came from firefox and I got sick of it being a memory hog and crashing after it being open for an extended period of time.

I tried Opera the other night and it seemed pretty fast. Mouse gestures were really handy as well but the ad blocking seemed to be a bit worse than Adblock in Firefox (probably due to not using a huge filter). I've still got it installed and will be switching back and forth until I've decided which I prefer.

How do you know the difference between the concerns you foresee and the information Google already has access to? That is, if you are considering worrying, how do you know you shouldn't be already?
Personally I already don't like it, basically because of the IP history being used in court as has already been mentioned. I really don't like that but I am just too lazy to care.

I used Opera religiously for over 3yrs but recently I was havin trouble on a few sites with popup text boxes. I would type in them but the recipient would recieve empty messages.Mk2 wrote:I tried Opera the other night and it seemed pretty fast. When I tried Chrome it did seem pretty good, but the lack of an Adblock turned me off it after a couple of weeks. And I doubt Chrome will ever have Adblock.

wow... no real chrome dedicated thread
This is kinda cool, talking about the speed of how fast the browser loads pages, and then comparing it to stuff... mostly by blowing it up.

I was fed up with those issues and jumped to Chrome about a year ago now and I've never looked back.Ekin wrote:Im only staying with firefox because of the addons. Im so tired of the memory leaks, hibernate issues, weird bugs like youtube stuttering occasionally. Looks like its time to jump ship to Chrome.

I'm a big Google user and have just signed up for this - https://www.google.com/experimental/gmailfieldtrial/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I've been so impressed with the Google Now cards I've been getting further to Google Maps address searches, also my Google Music suggestions, that I'm pleased to offer Google my inbox, calendar and private documents to its search tools as well. If I could give them my erogenous zones I would.

Re: Google concerns me...
Google Now creeps me out a bit. Especially when it tells me how long it'll take to get home an hour into my work day. One time, it didn't even bother to tell me how long to get home, it just told me how long it'd take to get to the pub.
