I need to restart this game. Stopped playing ages ago and now I have no idea of where I am in the story. I tend to do that a lot with JRPGs

Yeah I want to get back to it... last I remember I got trapped in a dungeon. But that could be any jap rpg...

Also respecing my characters at the start of the game wouldn't hurt.

I made it to the last disc, then lent it to my brother when he got his xbox for xmas and still haven't got it back :(

Wasn't gonna play Mass Effect until I finished it either :(

So need to get this back off my bro. What I've played of it was pretty awesome, although I didn't really like the feeling that all the Immortals were pretty much interchangeable skill-wise, especially with 2x magic womenz.

I left it on English simply for Jansen, one of the funniest bastards ever in an RPG.

Second play through I used the Jap voices

Jap voices... Jansen was the reason I changed lol. The English voices aren't that bad though. You could probably happily play it through on English.

Just hit a wall... it's the first battle when you enter Ghost Town... 5 stupid guards.

Looking at guides they recommend level 18... of course I'm on 16. Although someone suggests just using flarepots and stuff like that because they go first... not a bad idea. But I'll have to let it sit for a bit because I was ready to smash something.

Weaksauce gamer confirmed. I just bought the game guide on eBay
• Full Walkthrough for All Four Discs: Solve the mystery of Kaim's immortality. All side quests, optional areas, and super bosses revealed.
• Complete Area Maps: Detailed maps reveal every hidden item, invisible chest, and treasure-hunting spot.
• Full Data on Every Boss and Monster: Learn the weaknesses of each foe and discover elaborate strategies for beating Lost Odyssey's challenging boss monsters.
• All Rings, Skills, and Accessories Revealed: Learn deadly skill combos and find the hidden accessories that hold the game's most powerful abilities.
• Find Every Slot Seed: Max out your immortals by earning all 48 Slot Seeds.
• Earn All 1,000G Worth of Achievements: Everything you need to know to completely master Lost Odyssey and earn every Achievement on the way.
• Complete the Thousand Years of Dreams: Solve Kaim's mystery by finding each of his hidden dreams.
I don't have a lot of experience with JRPGs (I used to own FFX, I got up to the bit where you get to control your airship and uni holidays ended so I stopped playing, never to return. I played a bit of FFVII after borrowing it off a friend, got up to the second disc, stopped playing and returned it).

I have the time. I have the guide. I *will* finish Lost Odyssey

Lost Odyssey might break your spirit. It's a very tough game at the start.

I got past the five guards. I bombed the fuck out of them with items. Worked a charm.

I did get up to the second disc before and added Kaim's wife to my party so hopefully I'm not completely without hope :)

This game has one of the best scenes in an RPG ever. The one where the children lose something important. Very emotional.

Just got onto the second disc. I have to admit... the boss at the end of the disc was kinda easy. Especially since I had massive amounts of trouble with the 5 guards when you first meet Mack and Cooke.

It's odd when I think about it... there really haven't been that many encounters in the game. I mean, you get the odd random encounter, but I am off the first disc and I don't recall there ever being waves of battles. There were really only 4 big battles on the first disc.

It seems to be more story driven then combat heavy, which is all pretty cool. I really like the writing in the game. Really good emotional stuff.

I've put in about 6 hours and I'm liking it. The dreams are rad. The first one was really sad though. They're all kinda sad in a way. But the first one had a bit of an effect on me. I love how it's hard, I remember going through Grandia 2 without dying but I've already died 3 times in this game - the boss battles are tough and you need to have good strategy. The ring assembly system is good. So far this seems tonnes better than Eternal Sonata.

I found a few of the dreams a bit sad too.

It's still my favourite JRPG on 360 so far, even with the annoying grinding I needed to do close to the end and my dislike of random encounter battles - but I haven't got Tales of Vesperia or Star Ocean yet, so that might change.

It's some of the best writing I have ever seen in a game.

I should get back to it... <sigh>
