Unless they've released the PAL version, then don't even bother. The US one isn't multi region... the only way you can play it here is to import a copy of it for the PS3.guttermouth wrote:Trying to find a version of Williams pinball for the 360 to import, every where is sold out............

Didn't the pal release get a different name? I think it got a UK release. I could be thinking of something else...

Finally forked out the money for some new tables.
SF2 (it's new for me), the base back and the Marvel tables. Also imported my FX1 tables over.
I am hooked on this. Fucking hell.

Oh yes, this game is pure evil. I still play it regularly.
View 4 for me.
The Mars table only came out last week, and there has been a tournament for it. Fantastic Four table comes out some time soon.
I'm glad this game does NOT have a timer stat. I'd be horrified to see how many hours I've poured into it.

Yeah that table looks shit hot.
Tables I haven't bought yet - Mars, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Nightmare Mansion, Earth Defense and Excalibur. Opinions on what I should get next?

Mars and Excalibur are both good.
I don't have all of them either. I'm missing Speed Machine, Extreme, Agents, Buccaneer, Nightmare Mansion, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Earth Defense. I'm tempted to bite the bullet and get them all though.

Yup. My first impressions were a bit subdued, but then I started unlocking some modes and shit went BANANAS.

Can't you buy the first game to get Speed Machine/Extreme/Agents? Mine carried over.Twiztid Elf wrote:Mars and Excalibur are both good.

Re: Pinball thread including shinies and balls and stuff
Price of entry is 800 points for Pinball FX2 base which has four tables. Secrets of the Deep (ok), Rome (hard but excellent), Biolab (a lot of people liek this one but I don't - annoying), and Pasha (the best of these four).
Then you can buy Marvel Pinball which is the DLC/expansion. Spiderman (lots of fun but too easy), Iron man (hard, ok), Wolverine (one of the best tables of all of them), and Blade (excellent).
There are other DLC tables too - Fantstic Four (initial impressions are good) and Mars (good but too easy).
Then there is all the back catalogue. Pinball FX1 tables. And the ones that came out in between Pinball FX1 and 2 - Street Fighter 2 (ok but too hard), Excalibur (good table), Rocky & Bullwinkle (seems crap but only played the demo), etc.
I can't recommend this game enough. It was my personal number 4 for 2010, and my highest ranked XBLA game of all time.

Re: Pinball thread including shinies and balls and stuff
I set myself a goal of being in the top 3 on my friends leaderboards on all tables I own.
I was ok, but I'm failing now, as the more you play online, as soon as folks recognise you as a decent player, they add you to boost their own Pinball FX2 wizard score.
Btw, online is excellent on this. Everyone plays on their own table, but there is a 'drag-race-meter' where everyone races to the target score, with variable penalty for ball loss. There are often games going, and damn I've met some cruisy folk and also some of the wierdest folk I ever met on XBL on there.

Re: Pinball thread including shinies and balls and stuff
Something I saw on GAF that looked relevant for this thread:
Sew wrote:I don't know if this really fits the thread. This is a funny little thing I made, because I was playing Pinball FX 2 and wanted my flippers to feel like flippers.
A fairly simple setup as you can see. Inside the 360 controller I've run wires from the shoulder button switches to a jack on the side of the controller. Plug ROLF into this jack and voilà - the big white slappers now mimic the shoulder button function.
(You can see blue buttons underneath the controller too; these are also extensions of the shoulders and were present long before this new pinball mod. It's awesome having access to them under there.)
It all ends up looking a bit frankensteinish, but I'm ok with that. I'm not even that good at Pinball FX, but damn it's fun to mash mash mash those flippers.

Paranormal table is free on Pinball FX2 from 26 Oct to 1 Nov. Looks like a good table watching youtube vids.
Also, the new Marvel tables seem cool. There is a preview of the Xmen table on youtube. Cant link it from ipad.

I didn't know it got a PAL release? I'm been in bidding wars on Ebay the last week or two over a PS3 copy. Seems quite sought after.guttermouth wrote:Just picked up Williams Pinball for the 360 throught zavvi. They Finally got some stock in......

Re: Pinball thread including shinies and balls and stuff
I think England was the only Euro country that scored it. Been chasing the 360 one for a year, always sold out and just visiting zavvi last week I stumpled upon it...
