Re: Radiohead album - The King of Limbs - TOURING IN NOVEMBE
Yeah, I'm so lucky I managed to get tickets on Monday through the waste site and didn't have to worry about any of this crap.
Still annoyed how it was announced though - no emails or ANYTHING from waste, nothing at all. I was just incredibly lucky I heard them mention it on FBI radio driving to work, and even then I only found out about the waste pre-sale thanks to ateaseweb.com. I even stuffed around in the carpark at work and slowly sauntered in being a Monday morning, completely unawares that tickets were on sale AT THAT VERY MOMENT. Probably means I missed out on tickets to the front two rows of the section I'm in, but oh well, at least I should still have a great spot (lower seating section, front on to stage directly behind GA).
I was going to go GA but fuck it, that's too much hassle and means I have to get there super early for a good spot. Plus I did that last time around in '04 (got two rows from the barrier right in front of Ed). I'm also too old for those kind of shenanigans and would probably end up right near the back near where I'm sitting anyway
Shit, now we have to wait until NOVEMBER. They played the first gig of their new tour in Miami a couple of days back, and they played "Meeting in the Aisle" for the very first time, ever. It's from the Airbag/How am I Driving EP from 1998

Sounds like we're in similar seating. I got section 2 facing centre stage in the middle section. I actually purposefully avoided GA. I'm also too old to be in with the sweaties. I didn't want to be jostled around by people dancing to songs they shouldn't be. I just want to get high and sit and watch the show.

Oh you've had yours already? I'm going on Saturday night. Cannot wait. Do women go to Radiohead concerts? I haven't met one who could come at their music so far. My wife hates them. She prefers Enya and Meatloaf.

Re: Radiohead album - The King of Limbs - TOURING IN NOVEMBE
Haha yeah I'm lucky enough to have a fiancé who doesn't mind them, although she was happy enough to give up her ticket for a mate who was super keen to go but missed out on tickets.
Was a banging setlist, even if it was weighted heavily towards the last 2 albums (which is to be expected). We were lucky to get Airbag and Street Spirit, plus Kid A, How to Disappear and I Might Be Wrong. Nude/Big Ideas was probably the highlight for me though - been waiting about 14 years to hear that live.
Oh yeah and Give up the Ghost was INCREDIBLE live!

Word of advice though Cletus - don't go in with super duper expectations. Australia has been lucky (so far) with mostly excellent setlists (Brisbane got Climbing Up the Walls the bastards!) but there has been a few very average ones throughout the tour.
Saying that, even the King of Limbs stuff sounds fantastic live - Feral for example was off the hook, and the above-mentioned Give Up the Ghost was just beautiful.
Best thing though is that they were really enjoying themselves, and it showed in how well they performed. Even when they ruined the end of Idioteque Thom just smiled, shrugged his shoulders and said "we fucked it up, it happens. Good night!"

Heard some of Connon on triple j the other morning, certainly sounds interesting.
Not much stuff from The Bends on that setlist sadly. And they never play Electioneering live so I guess I'm not really missing out

I'll be most excellently entertained if they play Weird Fishes/Arpeggi.
Re: Radiohead album - The King of Limbs - TOURING IN NOVEMBE
Holy fuck they were awesome tonight! 2.5 hours of bliss, calm and craziness that passed in no time.
Great set list ... we got Karma Police (complete with awesome crowd singalong), Paranoid Android and Airbag for the old schoolers. Stuff from Hail to the Thief (There, There which is a personal fave) and in Rainbows (Reckoner another fave). Obviously quite a bit from King of Limbs which I've never heard, but it didn't matter as they mixed it up so well, that the flow of the show and changes of pace were perfect.
As has been said they looked like they were having a ball and encored the house down.
Enjoy tomorrow night's show lads! You're in for a treat!

swaction which is short for sweet action. I saved no time by using that but next time I'll be able to omit the explanation.

We got Planet Telex, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi and Kid A but I think Give Up The Ghost was stunning and as I've not quite gotten to properly listen to King Of Limbs, I think it's time.
Absolutely superb live performance. Would see again. This was my first time seeing them live and I've walked out with even more love for my favourite band.

Re: Radiohead album - The King of Limbs - TOURING IN NOVEMBE
Exit Music was played right at the end before the encore, I think. Should also mention You and Whose Army, Pyramid Song, Myxomatosis, Bodysnatchers, Nude and a new personal favourite since last night - Separator.
I wasn't let down at all even though they didn't play Let Down. I'm pretty sure my metabolic state had been somewhat broken down at the end of (I think it was) Bloom on a sonic level.
OK here we go - our setlist.
1. Lotus Flower
2. Bloom
3. There There
4. The Daily Mail
5. Myxomatosis
6. The Gloaming
7. Separator
8. Kid A
9. How To Disappear Completely
10. Nude
11. Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi
12. Ful Stop
13. You and Whose Army?
14. Paranoid Android
15, Feral
16. Bodysnatchers
17. Exit Music
Encore 1
18. These Are My Twisted Words
19. Pyramid Song
20. Planet Telex
21 Idioteque
Encore 2
22. GUTG
23. Reckoner
24. True Love Waits/Everything In Its Right Place

They will probably never play Let Down live again - it's meant to be ridiculously hard and even at their peak they couldn't pull it off. Thom's voice probably couldn't handle it nowadays anyway

Oh yeah the Atoms For Peace album will be dropping very soon (although it's already leaked of course).

I must be losing my mind. I thought I'd posted this same thing nearly a fortnight ago.
Sounds good though. I'll be ordering it.

So Burn the Witch was pretty damned good, but holy hell Daydreaming is incredible. Seriously best RH I've heard in a looong time. It's like Ok Computer era B-sides mixed with Amnesiac production. Just wow.
And new album 4am Monday! Eeeeek!

Yeah, Wow, I hadn't heard them until I read your post. Burn the Witch is fucking awesome. I instantly love it.
But as for Daydreaming. It's got KID A all over it. Yeah, Amnesiac and ok computer...but it's got lots of Kid A. And I completely agree, it's the best thing they've done since the last awesome thing they did last time. awesome...but then you get to the 4min mark and we're at a whole new level. And what's with them giving it away lately? Isn't my money good enough? Fuck, I love Radiohead.
Most of you will not make it through the following masterpiece.
I actually know people who don't like Radiohead.

Just had one listen so far. Based on that singular listen I'd go as far as saying it's their best since Amnesiac. Big call I know.
Oh and True Love Waits! Been waiting 18 years for that!

I'm blown away by Burn The Witch. I'm grabbing A Moon shaped Pool right now. So excited, I can't deny it.

I love the first two songs on the album. Top quality. Like anything Thom Yorke-related, it struggles to keep my attention for the whole album.
