There are excuses, you just don't accept them.

Because they're not acceptable.
Re: iPhone
I think Apple's main concern was how they could charge $30 for a micro USB cable.

Re: iPhone
Knowing Apple the only concern is how much more can we charge for it, they know Job knob jockies will still pay no matter how ridiculous the price is...
Re: iPhone
Yeah, because iPhones and iPads are so overpriced compared to their peers (?!?).
Apple hasn't had overpriced gear for a long time now, especially taking into account build quality and customer service.
Anyway, this was interesting:
http://arstechnica.com/apple/2013/01/we ... rders/#p3n" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Some people are calling foul on it saying it's stock manipulation, and that there are no credible sources. But it could be true. Results out next Wednesday, so I guess we'll find out then.

Re: iPhone
Nah, it's their accessories and addons that are overpriced...
Re: iPhone
I mostly just buy third party gear that's been rated well on Amazon. Although that said the legit Apple gear I buy lasts a hell of a lot longer.
That link about sales numbers _is_ bullshit apparently.

Just grabbed a THX tune up app for the iPhone. Currently it's free, price expected to go up next week.

Re: iPhone
Haven't checked it out yet. You need a HDMI cable for the iPhone to use it, cause you need to plug in it to your TV.

Re: iPhone
So, this is rad as shit. There was once a DOSBox app on the iOS App Store called iDOS, that was obviously pulled. But since then, the same guy has released iDOS 2 which doesn't emulate DOS etc., but is actually a VM that can run (from what I've read) at least the equivalent of a 486DX2/66 (pretty sure it can be more, there's an article on how to get Win98 running. On your iPad. Yup.).
I'm gonna give it a crack, see how it goes. Looking forward to tinkering!

Re: iPhone
Shut up
I'm not thinking of going that far... just wanted to get some crazy shit (like Sopwith!) running on it. And I did.
I'll admit, it was a bit fun to get back into the ol' DOS habit again.

Re: iPhone
What were people saying about Apple's strategy with iPhone 5?

That said, I'm almost definitely getting a 5S, unless I'm still not sick of my 4S by the time it comes out.
I'll wait until Apple tell me it is.
Edit: GOD DAMNIT I thought we had strikethrough enabled. Well, fuck it.

Re: iPhone
Too hard, the whole point of an iphone is that you don't have to fuck around with that sort of crap.

Re: iPhone
my view... the phone and OS aint that good, the dev support is selling phones
Re: iPhone
Isn't that what matters over raw specs? And the OS isn't that bad. It's missing relatively few features now.
Re: iPhone
It's a real shame what a disappointment the iPhone 5 has been for Apple, almost as bad as the 4S.
