Madden Thread
I've spent the better part of last night and today getting stuck into this game.
Somehow....some way....they appear to have done it. The game seems actually REALLY GOOD and I haven't been able to say that since 06 on the original Xdude.
Has anyone else picked this up? I set the game speed to slow and it feels just right. Defensive line controls are really fun for once!
PS4 version here.

Re: Madden NFL 15 - miracles do happen?
I picked it up, Xbone version. Haven't started a career yet, just been smashing out Play Now matches to get used to the new mechanics. Liking it so far.

Re: Madden NFL 15 - miracles do happen?
I've got the ps4 version
Just running default on All Pro...I'm not very good.
Loving the defensive line play though, defense is no longer a chore to get back on offense.
I played through a season finished 9-7 .... Really need to work on not throwing interceptions but I'm loving it.
Best NFL game I have played in 10 years I'm happy to say.

Re: Madden NFL 15 - miracles do happen?
Agree with both you chaps.
Definitely the best Madden since the Xbox/PS2 days!
I'm using Dallas in my franchise (I just like the look of Jerrydome!), beat San Diego in my first pre-season game 14-13 after I gambled on a 2 point conversion late in the 4th, then got waxed 34-10 by Baltimore in the second game after I had what can only be described as a 4th quarter meltdown.
Have you guys adjusted the game speed? Slow feels absolutely spot on. All Pro here as well.
The training mode is fucking fantastic, especially the Football Concepts section! Brilliant addition.

Re: Madden NFL 15 - miracles do happen?
Pilon and blotto, get on this.
Also I haven't touched the sliders yet myself and I'll see how it pans out over some more games, but CPU QB accuracy may be an issue (too good).
I'm playing 10 minute quarters with accel clock on and fuck-all penalties are getting called so I'll look at that as well.
Loving the default settings for the defensive line - sacks are possible getting around the corner with the DE but it doesn't feel overpowered. Just being able to apply some pressure and force an early pass is good. Although I have noticed sometimes the QB will just stand back there while you barrel down on him. hmmmmm

Re: Madden NFL 15 - miracles do happen?
Blotto has the ps4 version too.
I'm not hardcore when it comes to Madden and stats.... So penalties although lacking don't take anything away from the game for mine.
I am playing on 8 min quarters with accel clock down to 15 seconds and broke the single season record for sack in the first season..... So the d controls are perhaps a bit overpowered.
As I said not a stat head when it comes to NFL so I'm loving the challenge that all pro provides with me throwing picks but getting sacks its making every game a challenge and fun at the same time.

Re: Madden NFL 15 - miracles do happen?
Ive not once thought my picks have been anyone else bar my fault.... Same deal with the sacks..... If I time it right and do the right thing on the line I should be in the QBs face.

Yep same here, haven't thrown an interception that wasn't from me just making a poor read. Breaking the sack record straight up, yes that could be an issue haha

Re: Madden NFL 15 - miracles do happen?
I've been sacking opposing QBs a fairbit, been picked off a fair few times too (bloody Sherman!).
For my first game, I played 49ers v Rams & of all people, Sam Bradford gets injured
The one area I want to get better in is the run controls. Once I'm in someone's grasp my player just seems to go down, haven't really been able to fend off tackles like previous games.

Re: Madden NFL 15 - miracles do happen?
I'm up and down with the running game... Although I do seem to be able to fight for a few extra yards after the tackle. But that's probably because my HB is Lacy more than my skill.
You really have to read the play and pick the gap early though or your toast......
Outside runs I've found really hard.... Only broken a handful for +6 yards..... Get stuffed a lot on toss plays.

For those with an Xbone, if you check out my activity feed (from the dash) you'll find a short clip I uploaded where the physics spaz out & a Seahawk decides to fly

They seem to have nailed a lot of things quite accurately!AgOnNy wrote:For my first game, I played 49ers v Rams & of all people, Sam Bradford gets injured
Yes the game sure is like crack. Early days for me but in training mode and on the field so far I'm going ok with the running game both inside and outside. Though I love running counter and stretch runs more than anything else.
Have pulled out a few draw plays here and there after pushing the defense back off the line with some good passing plays. In previous games I tended to get destroyed on draws even with the defense playing off.
I think there's going to be a lot of success both passing and running as you get to grips more on your pre-snap reads and adjustments. Adjusting the O-line blocking and even manually moving people around has helped me a lot so far.
One play I had a counter run called, saw the defense was overloaded to the side I was going to. Audibled to reverse the run and even though the O-line still went in the original direction that the play called for, the QB handed off and the RB went the other direction for a nice gain, defense bought it hook line and sinker.

Yeah I must say Draws are my most successful running play if you set them up well.

There's a video of a glitch where a lineman goes flying into the air and lands about 20 yards downfield. Very funny!

Need to fill a spot in a Fantasy league, Candy is already in. Anyone else interested?

I have another one or are they the same?
I wanted to put the clip together from the instant replay in Madden, but too much dicking around.

Re: Madden NFL 15 - miracles do happen?
Madden is currently topping the charts here on both xbone and ps4. Number 1 overall. Is Madden usually this popular?
NFL2k1 being the only NFL game I've owned. I remember reading all the great reviews and decided I should first learn the game rules then buy it, to which I did (Canadian ) on Dreamcast.

Flip, you should import Blitz the League II, banned in Aussie. A lot of fun and doesn't take itself too seriously all in the while pumping your players full of roids, snapping bones back into place and sending disease ridden whores to the opposite camps so players under perform/not show up due to STDs.
