Yeh Xbox wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for halo, it's such an important franchise and this needed to be good as it has declined in popularity.
They totally fucked it, and they knew it... I refuse to believe that ask the bugs didn't show during in house testing, ok matchmaking issues might not have shown up but it's still the biggest game I've ever played.
My Xbox has locked up, I've had UI items layered on top of each other, mix of English and some Asian text in menus, black screen with a could not load built message in red, achievements not unlocking, level completion not being recognised... All sorts of shit
It's a fucking disaster, and I don't think they know how to fix it... It's clear they don't know why matchmaking isn't working.
I'm still having fun with it, I'll ride it out... But I'm gutted as a halo fan, lot of damage done here
I'm playing through from the very start. Up to 343 Guilty Spark so far and haven't encountered any amazing bugs yet. There's been a couple of frame drops, but nothing to mar my enjoyment.
Couldn't give a rat's about MP, so I haven't tried that yet.

Woop, just found a lovely bug... I think.
The shotgun doesn't hit Flood at point-blank range. Mmm... fun!

Tomorrow I get to enter team unbiased for next-gen. $340 incl. tax for an Xbone with Assassin's Creed Black Flag and Unity (and a Target $50 gift card).
Was planning on getting Halo: MCC, might get Forza on the cheap, and other must-haves? Will probably skip Sunset Overdrive for now unless it gets super cheap.
So I got home and decided to fire up Halo. Five minutes into it, the Xbox kicks me out to perform a mandatory update. None of this "nah fuck off, I'll just play offline thanks" stiff that you could do on the 360; it quite literally won't let me play without downloading a 511MB patch.

During one Monday Night Racing session when I was hosting and we had been playing for about an hour, I got kicked off Live without warning and a dash update started downloading.
New MCC patch is an improvement, finding matches much better, the ui doesn't bug and glitch out like before. The only issues I'm having now is still lag in some games, that will get better once they turn on proper dedicated servers.
Goddamn it, I missed the super cheap Xbone. I grabbed one for $360 incl. tax with the two Assassin's Creed games, Zoo Tycoon and Max: Curse of Brotherhood. and a year of Xbox Live.
