Re: The retro thread
You guys would've had plenty of BMXs parked out front of your respective houses in ~1983!
Zaxxon is one of those games on my "to master someday" list. I'm consistently crap at it, on any system.
I collected most of this stuff over 15-20 years ago and had it all stashed away all over the place. It's nice to finally have it all together and accessible. While it genuinely makes me happy to play with it, increasingly I feel like it should rationalise the collection a bit. Nahhhh...
This is another beaut - a mate made a PAL SNES Super Mario RPG cart for me!

I loved venture but never had defender. Loved play sega's carnival as well. It was such a fantastic console.Madmya wrote:Didn't play Ladybug, but I used to love Venture as well. Defender too.

Re: The retro thread
I found a boxed Sega 3000 in my pile of junk a month ago when sorting through all my shit before I left NZ. Had around a dozen boxed cartridges too but only remember Congo Bongo, Sinbad and Exerion.

SC3000 is a cool little micro. This one is sitting on an SF7000 and has a gold plaque stating it was donated to the Sega Computer Club by John Sands. Or something like that. And the steering wheel.

Re: The retro thread
I'll start with just the SNES games for now. I'm one of those freaks who must have everything complete in box, so you guys just know that the console is in great condition complete in box too.
Think I'll gently caress my copy of Chrono Trigger the next time CrackHED calls me a pirate. That fucking game cost me more than he earns in a month ($350).

I thought Starfox 2 didn't get an official release?

Is this really real? If it is I want it even if there are no games for it.

Fucking sweet, my Freeloader disc works with the Q. Just packed up the GAMECUBE NINTENDO, the Q is pure swag so that stays out!

Re: The retro thread
It's actually one of the most aesthetically pleasing consoles I've seen/owned.
Console Aesthetics Crew in my unbiased opinion -
Neo Geo AES
Q
Mega Drive/MegaCD 1 combo
White Saturn

Re: The retro thread
The Megadrive/Mega CD1 is awesome, wish I still kept mine.
I do like some of the PC Engine combos too.

Wow nice GameQubecumber man! It even plays DVDs!!
I think the Famicom FDS combo also rates on aesthetics.

Re: The retro thread
Convenient resurrection of this old thread, considering I've done the first stage of moving my retro room from the front of the house (right next to my son's bedroom where I could never use it) to down the back. Got rid of the old bed, bought a sofa bed and have the consoles and games on display set up. Next step is to move the wardrobe full of stuff (non-display consoles, doubled consoles, non-display boxes and loose games) downstairs. At least now I can play stuff with the volume up on a comfy couch.

Re: The retro thread
Agreed, with the first, second and fourth of those. The MD1/MCD1 stack may look monumental but I don't reckon it's all that attractive.Candy Arse wrote:It's actually one of the most aesthetically pleasing consoles I've seen/owned.

As Tomby said, the PC Engine variants are mostly gorgeous:
Then there's the the SuperGrafx.... **shudder**

Re: The retro thread
I do like the built in combos of the PC Engine but also the ones where the PCE attaches to the Turbo GFX like the Mega CD1 combo.

Re: The retro thread
It must be a pain having to use a game pad with a cord again. We've had it good all these years.
