Re: Windows 10
Day 2 update from me.
On my main PC the keyboard/mouse stopped responding, I updated the logitech drivers and it looks to be fine now, occasionally I was getting an issue with the NIC not detecting the cable, rolling back to the driver I used in 8.1 has fixed it. Also I was getting some odd issues in the brother printer suite, a cleanup and reinstall fixed it.
On the transformer tablet, I had to rollback the camera driver to get the front facing camera to work, besides that all good.
The usual teething driver issues of a new OS on day one I guess, overall really love how snappy the interface is, desktop mode is excellent, been pretty impressed with edge, I haven't come across a site yet it didn't render properly, will be excellent once we extensions for some adblock.
For those on the fence there is meant to be a big fix update due early next month, might be better to wait for that update to avoid some of the issues we've seen. For me after sorting out drivers issues, it's been fast and rock solid, there are still ui bugs in tablet mode though as others have said it's a downgrade from 8.1 and needs more work imo.

Yeah I get that. This thing is a fail.cloud wrote:Just getting failed to update Windows 10 home through the windows update
Although for the first time my computer is telling me I'm ready to upgrade to Windows 10 so looks like I'll be trying for about the 8th time this afternoon. Here's hoping for some reason it works this time.

Re: Windows 10
I've done two flawless upgrades so far. About to start up my old lap top and see how that upgrade goes. Total of 5 to do in the house.
Re: Windows 10
I think being able to do it off a DVD is what made it work for me?
Also, if given the option, agree to 'download and install any updates' during the installation.
It downloaded what must have been at least a gigabyte before it unpacked what was on the DVD when I installed it.

It just refuses to update on my PC; another dud Microsoft product.
I might knock the resolution down to 900p, see if it works then.

Meh. Jumping the queue. Doing a manual install instead of waiting.

Bypass the queue. I've done it three times and the bouncers let me go, no worries.

Change your admin language and region settings to U.S then launch the 32bit or 64bit windows tool linked in the 3rd paragraph of the linked article. You'll get the upgrade option straight away. If you haven't changed those settings properly, you'll get a blue box saying "Something Happened" and you know you've missed one of those two settings.(courtesy of Ministry)
I've done 3 installs. The interesting thing is the update settings discussed a little earlier (I've set mine to share to only my network). I put the old ASUS laptop on the network, did the upgrade using the MS updater tool and it upgraded to W10 faster than my PC and Surface Pro. Maybe half the time.
Anyway, there's a common issue with Realtek (and some other) 5.1. My desktop runs separate Turtle Beach 5.1 and they're fine but the 5.1 speaker set up isn't right and it can't be made right until there's a fix. It's nothing, I've set my speakers to 7.1 and disabled side speakers. It's close but the sub still doesn't work. So that's the one issue I've seen in three installs.
Maddy, it's so good. You should totes get it! I feel like I might do a flawless upgrade to Nicole's desktop tomorrow. The process has been so enjoyable for me. M$ are good guys.

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real.

Re: Windows 10
My first attempt last night worked. Or so it seems, everything was fine except the start menu wouldn't work.
So I've rolled back and am trying again

Re: Windows 10
Wow I just read that Microsoft are working with Cyanogenmod to make this a thing moving forward. And it looks like you got limited success already.
That's pretty impressive. I'm intrigued by the possibility maybe it would be nice to have phone and PC on the same OS.
