Planescape Torment: Tides of Numenara (coming to console)

Can't wait for a console port of this. (don't want pc sales to be high, prefer to see console sales go high to encourage more pc-like rpg titles on it as the greedy pc gamers are stealing our console games and causing consoles to feel less special than they seemed before)

So anyone here even give a shit? Anyone who doesn't care because it's 2d like old games need to have their faces punched. EA would never support true old school games like this so stop complaining.

I was superhyped by the thread title but then I find it's 2d like old games and suddenly I'm left with zero amount of fucks to give for this game. It needed to be a first person shooter set in space lava belts. There should have been the ability to mate with alien species and produce hybrid offspring that can mind control the universe.

EA ruined dragon age and mass effect's ending is garbage. That's why these indie games exist to repair all that damage by the greedy publishers who cater to dumb people who are rich and just buy any garbage because their parents spoiled them.
If you don't support these games with money, the pc-rpg genre is doomed. Sales of fallout 4 are high despite jeff gerstmann ripping on its old creation engine being creaky and the inconsequential dialogue and choices. That means evil is growing, not shrinking.

I heard a rumour that fallout 5 will scrap perks. First they took out skills now the next logical thing to scrap (so it's not confusing to children which is the age group Todd Howard wants to expand into) are the perks. Then in fallout 6 there will be no more VATS. It will just be a call of duty game with post apoc mod applied to it. (more profitable than making a RPG)
To select limbs to shoot, you just let the computer decide that for you by it guessing what you would have chosen based on your name, the year,, what dlc you bought and how early you pre-ordered. (this psychological profile allows the game to make VATs less confusing for those who thought fallout was just a really big fps instead of a role playing game)

Torment Tides of Numenera finally has a release date: 28th February 2017. It came out as a Steam Early Access title in January.
PC is doomed. Games like this used to be on PC exclusively.

"Choose your own adventure"-style youtube video showing off all the different paths you can take:
nice idea for ad.

No Switch port :(

GameHED are you going to get the bug-ridden console version, or the superior PC version?

It's safe to say Torment: Tides of Numenera, released last week, has a few technical bumps. I personally experienced them playing on PlayStation 4.

In roughly 30 hours I had a few crashes, got physically stuck on scenery, and saw monsters get confused in combat and turn around on the spot, exacerbating already sluggish turn-times greatly. The frame-rate was choppy too.
What's that about PC games being buggy?

That's why if it released on the switch, nintendo wouldn't have allowed it to release until it satisfied the nintendo seal of quality.

You want to play the game early? You get bugs and act as free bug finder for these american coders.

You want polished products? You delay. (zelda was delayed for ages right at the end of Wii U's life)

You can't have your cake and eat it.

Yes I will buy, but I expect these guys will fix this up in patches like Bethesda did for Fallout 4.

Consoles are turning more and more into PC platforms now which is a shame because it is inheriting the bad parts of pc gaming (constant updates all the bloody time) but misses out on the good stuff. (obsidian not porting to console out of fear they are shit at coding on less powerful systems and the higher expectation of quality console gamers have vs PC gamers who are used to pirating music games and porn and raping their own artists of money so they can't buy bigger mansions for their kids...which causes the quality of their work to go down because they have to go back to their job working as a janitor to pay the bills instead of making art.

It's because of PC gamers like you Candy that mettallica is afraid of digital distribution. He sees you as a thief because it is PC gamers that are downloading mettalica songs not us console gamers.
The Switch is a game only system not multimedia. Digital distribution is eating into vinyl sales. You sir, are the enemy of industry and kiling jobs. Why? because you are too lazy to buy things from shops. What is going to hapen when EBGames is finally gone? Where are you going to go to trade in your old games to buy new ones? Digital Distribution services like Steam don't let you sell your old games to new owners for money. This means poor kids will just pirate knowing they can't afford new games and the cycle repeats. (they buy a pc to pirate games, instead of paying developers, artists and content creators money to make better and higher quality works of art.)
Thanks a lot Candy. You are putting artists on the street and forcing them to go on the dole and earn a living making shitty mobile phone games with free-to-play business model instead of working on triple a titles like the stuff nintendo makes that gets 10 10 10 10 10 10 like Bioshock did.

If you want low quality games Candy, then just admit it. But don't blame us console gamers for the collapse of industry. It's you. You need to reflect on your action by looking at the mirror once in a while to check yourself. Who is the creators of bugs? PC coders. On consoles, historically you could not afford to have bugs since once it was out there on shelves thee was no way to patch it. Consoles only inherited this buggy stuff from PC industry recently.

It's the reason and the reason people still love consoles. But that might change if console becomes too much like your fave platform. One day those kids will say "enough is enough. I am not buying console anymore and migrating to phone games" And this is when the quality of games will dip. Guys like Peter Molynuex would love this because he can hype his games as the greatest thing ever, then sell you the game and not fullfill his promises and there will be nothing you can do about it, because there is no checks and balances. (mobile and steam is the wild west where nobody checks the quality of what's being put up there. )

What PC coders need to understand is that a closed platform has benefits in that you are whipped into shape by the manufacturer of the hardware to perform at your best because you are competing with other coders on an even playing field. If your game is n't as good as the other coders, it will show up in comparisons and force you to improve how you code the game when you realise the possbilities of the limited hardware through other people's work. By forcing you to improve your coding, you become stronger. But on PC, you won't become stronger because you just expect everyone to upgrade every 2 months and if the game looks like shit on low end machines, then you can just blame the machine and operating system and not yourself. This then leads to you leaving bugs in games, not optimising things, and you get low scores because the reviewers might try to play your game on shit hardware on purpose if they don't like you so they can lower the score of the game and put you out of business.

Review of Torment from ACG (game is worth buying but not full price until bugs and fixed - perhaps a director's cut edition will be made?)
this reviewer hasn't had a chance to review Zelda yet but mentions the frame drops affected his enjoyment* of it so there is hope that he will not go easy on the game. Since he doesn't use points though it won't affect metacritic score.

It's time to abandon the number system and go with a simple system of "is it good enough to buy, bad enough to avoid, great enough to consider purchasing day 1 or a masterpiece that requires you drop everything right now to play and talk about and experience? Most people really only have 4 levels I find.
