Re: OculusRift
I'm not sure maybe I'm just playing it too much..... I'm not getting sick of it completely. Obviously there's going to be an initial Wow factor. Now that I know what it's capable of its not Wowing me as much and I'm seeing the lower res graphics etc where the sheer wonder at the start made me forget that. The 1080 should help that a bit though.

I think we're in a bit of a post-launch lull too. Plus you seem to be really into racing games, which limits things somewhat.

Re: OculusRift
Yeah I think it's a combination of a few things. I'd like something non racing to grab me but nothing has yet. Looking forward to seeing what Edge of Nowhere is like this week.
Re: OculusRift
It's because sitting at your desk with a tether isn't very good.
I was thinking about it and I think the best game genre I could come up with that would be good in VR (preferably a Vive style setup where you have a designated room to 'explore' in, say 9 feet by 9 feet) would be an old school 'point and click' adventure game.
Imagine... Monkey Island in first person VR. That would be a fun, whimsical kind of game mode that could sell me on VR.
I've also been thinking about ways to make FPS games work in VR and I've come up with a few ideas.

You should have rented Kanga's Rift. He's pretty much done with it.

I tried it but personally couldn't see any difference, though kanga could. You should give it ago once you receive it.

Re: OculusRift
But of course my internet connection is being a pain in the arse so I doubt the Oculus Software will be finished downloading tonight.
I assumed it would come with a disc. Damn it I should have pre-downloaded.

Re: OculusRift
Rift installed, unknown sources allowed ... I click Launch Project Cars - Oculus Rift in Other VR Mode in Steam ... and the game just starts running on my monitor while the Oculus Home software runs on the Rift.
What am I doing wrong?
