That was probably one of the best episodes of television ANYTHING I have watched.

Good to see they make an episode that looks as good as the season 2 finale of Black Sails.

I feel like I just watched the entire next book in this season. Surely it won't be that different.

Wouldn't it be John Targaryen Stark rather than Targaryen Snow?

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
I can't see them doing it...you've been well informed previously though, so there is that. That's a big deal. Closure there is a huge deal.
Anyway, how about that Bastard v Bastard battle? One of the best looking medieval type fights I've seen. The horses smashing into each other, the dudes going flying, the blood, the mud and the arrow rain. The battle reminded of the Yamaha Beach scene from Saving Pilot Brian

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
I think they're setting up for it. Why show Lyanna Stark this season and have the Tower of Joy scene? It's referencing something GRRM hasn't got around to explaining himself yet...it's the biggest "mystery" in the entire story.
I reckon it'll be the final scene next week.
Battle of the bastards was great, but you never felt like it would end in anything less than Ramsay eating it...or it eating him in this case
I was more impressed by what happened in Mereen.

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
Loved that episode, production quality was unreal for a TV show and they even managed to not make her look munted on the dragon especially when you think just a few episodes earlier when she gave her big speech on the dragon it looked completely fucked CGI wise.
I think you guys are right about the ending of this season with Jon and his real Mum etc, no Bran for the last few episodes and they have tied off the Mareen shit (finally what a crap storyline) and the Ramsey stuff and Winterfell. It gives good space to move on with Bran, move on with Cersei's trial (lets face it no one cares about the queens brother), some white walkers moving forward to the wall action and maybe hook back to the sand snakes of Dorne getting involved again for season 7.

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
So if John snow is the child of a Targareyan/Stark relationship. Is he still a bastard as they weren't married. Will that revelation give him any higher standing or just that the blood line is key to his destiny?

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
Yeah, it comes down to bloodlines. There'd be a lot of opposition to accepting it as truth, too many interests and such. He'd still be regarded as a bastard, but his pure bloodline trumps resistance.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrion is a Targaryen as well. Son of Mad King and Tywin's wife via rape.

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
It's funny how Ramsey kept calling John bastard when the only difference was that he had convinced his father to give him legitimacy before he killed him soon after. I'm sure if Ned Stark was still around he'd do the same for John Snow as well. (Assuming he's actually Ned's son and all his other heirs where still dead).

It's certainly a theory. I don't subscribe to it though so it's probably right.Candy Arse wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrion is a Targaryen as well. Son of Mad King and Tywin's wife via rape.

I'm hoping Meera is Jon Snow's twin sister.

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
On first blush maybe the best episode in the show's history.
The way it was shot, they way it was directed, the shit that actually happened...the music was PERFECT.
Fucking nailed it in every way possible.

Re: Game of Thrones [TV HBO]
I'd still say the Hodor reveal was best thing this season and series wide however this has been by far the best season to date, nil dud episodes at all. The only down point was Ayra being gutted and then walking around the next like it was a scratch. I just wish GRRM would release the next book already. Guy is going to die of diabetes or arse cancer at this rate. Sad as it was when Robert Jordan died and left his series unfinished (not a patch on ASOIAF but not without it's fans). I can't think of any of GRRM's peers that could finish it if he died suddenly.
